hi, thanks a lot! honestly for tips, I would simply recommend getting to know and understand the content in depth and breadth, seeing how it connects to other concepts (for math/STEM subjects). as simple it is, it can go quite a bit further than it sounds when done right. and on top of that do a lot of problems of different varieties, which will help cement your understanding and hone your problem solving acumen. this is also true for english/humanities subjects, where it really is about practice and doing more preparation beforehand, getting to know the content (as the study design outlines). habits like reading and writing consistently outside of school help hone your essay capabilities, but on top of that grind out lots of essays. try to develop a trend of progressive improvements, ideally with feedback, from peers and teachers. and make the most of what you have - your peers, teachers, textbooks and other resources. as to how to cope, it helps to remember that life is and will be a lot more than what you're experiencing now - a disappointing sac or bombed exam, which I've had both of. and really it's as simple as accepting the result, learning from your mistakes and moving on. find something fun to do. besides all that, maintain good habits! schedule time for study but also leave time for what else it may be that you are interested in. as you are in year 11, developing the good study habits early on and adjusting it to suit year 12 will be the basis to exercise your knowledge and skills on. lastly, the atar is not your life, it doesn't define you - work hard for what you'd like to achieve, but don't be attached to a result. good luck!
Both people in our friend group who got raw 50 studied ahead, however our 99.95 did not study ahead, and neither did he take tutoring. So find the study method you fit! Our cohort definitely helped us all out, but it can only carry you so far in the SAC scores. The cohort is more useful in providing you a group of friends to study with!
@@Brydes-pz2ik , when you say they studied ahead, how much ahead was this ? Months, or over Yr12 holidays. Would help a lot as I will be in year 12 next year, and did pretty bad in accelerating 3/4 bio (34). Any other advice or strategies you implemented in contributing to 99+, means a lot.
Months, and to an extent a full year ahead. But remember our raw 49 did not study ahead at all so hard work during year 12 is what matters most. Also, if you are aiming for the 99+ threshold, I would recommend recognising which subjects are your top 4 and which are your bottom 2. Then prioritise your top 4, especially English subjects and slightly abandon your bottom 2. Since unless you want around 99.95, they really aren’t worth it to try that hard
This friend group is amazing! Any important advice for someone going into year 11 doing physics, chemistry, human bio, methods and English? would be highly appreciated 🙌
Thanks. Is human bio a university level subject? I haven't heard about it. For english and methods, in general, do a lot of past exam paper and SACs from other schools. Make sure you time your practices for English. If you're in year 11 right now, I recommend just reading a lot of news, and developing a mindset of thing about "what is the author trying to achieve" for news. And as for methods, do a lot of past papers, including VCAA ones and the ones from Killbaha, heffernan Mav Neap TSSM. Make sure to familiarise yourself with CAS calculator.
Hey bro, congrats on your score. Can u give me a favour and give some tips on getting into selective school for Victoria Appreciate u bro and once again, CONGRATS🎉🎉
Sorry bro, you’ve probably finished doing the entrance exam by now if you’re in year 8. But generally just practice with some mock papers from ACER/edutest, and you should be fine. Depending on which school you currently go to, the difficulty will vary.
Hey bro, huge congratulations to you and your friends. I'm a year 10 nossal kid planning on doing methods, english, spesh and physics for my 4 mains, and I'm accelerating viscom and applied computing. I have a couple of questions: 1.Can you please give advice for each one (the ones that you guys did same to mine)? 2. What tutor did you go to for each subject? 3. How do you kill procrastination and if you can, how do you get into that deep work mode (bc I study for insane hours and still get average results)? 4. What is some general advice for getting 99+ ATAR? It would be much appreciated if you could answer these 4 questions within the next 2 years before I go into year 12 and sit my vcaa exam lol -Aryan
thanks for suggesting but tbh chemistry is not my thing - i would rather do something that interests me and work towards getting aa 50 to avoid scaling down rather than do something that I hate and not have chances to get 50@@bobjones6021
@wakancarmc-studysmart4887 well if u study hard bro regardless if u hate it it'll do u great justice if u get a study score of like 45 or smthn in chem. I hated Chem too haha but got a 46 study score and ended up with 99.85
