What an awesome place to have across the road from your work! 😍 we love it there too- always make a point to visit if we’re in town. Thanks for watching! Cheers, Sheena
😍😍😍 Lucky!! The fruit and veg is fantastic- it’s quite reasonably priced too I find? We always love a wander and try to visit whenever we’re in town. Thanks for watching Alice 💜 Cheers, Sheena
YUMM! Everything looked so fresh and good! The oysters and pastries from the market were my favorites. The oysters simply glistened, and the crunch from the breads got my mouth watering. Happy Birthday, Sheena!
So happy you had a great experience mate! And hope you enjoy the other spots we share in this series. We are seriously eating SO well in Melbourne. Thanks for watching! Cheers, Sheena
Was in Melbourne last week and took myself on a food adventure- Melbourne has so much to offer, great diversity of food and hospitality is top notch. Love your videos 😊
Couldn’t agree more! Hope you had a fabulous time in Melbourne and had some memorable eats. And thanks for watching- hope you enjoy the rest of the series. Cheers, Sheena
The most underrated spot in Melbourne is Dandenong. First generation immigrants showcasing their love for food. Its the cheapest spot to shop in Melbourne. Any Kiwis that miss their local treats head off to Dandenong. My family has been in the hospo industry for over 8 decades in Melbourne and Dandenong is unknown by most foodies. So many global cuisines and the real melting pot of Melbourne. You guys need to check it out...... Its hard to research because no foodie has the courage to go there! Most markets and places in Melbourne dull down their foods to cater for Aussie palates
Love hearing this mate. We have been so desperate to get out that way and we’re debating it for this trip- decided to wait until next time and hire a car to shorten the travel time (given we have baby in tow). Super pumped to film up a storm when we can make it out there!! 😍 You’ll have to let us know some of your fav spots! Thanks for watching! Cheers, Sheena
Melbourne market has such awesome food, a big variety as well so it's hard to choose what to eat haha. Ove the food you both ate, now I want to go there again.
I'm not surprised you went back to Ugo, those focaccia sandwiches look absolutely amazing! 🤤 I'm very tempted to stop in Melbourne en route to Tasmania and NZ at the end of the year just for the food 😋
T&S I just love your channel when it's in Melbourne (Hey, I just don't get to Auckland that often). You turned me on to the stand-up seafood bars and Agathé at SMM a couple of years ago. Something I have shared with the gallery guiding team here from Ballarat. With the NGV only a short tram ride away from SMM, everyone has a great day out. I tried the focaccias at Lil Lane from last week's episode. My only issue was that they were just so generous with the serving that even a glutton like me couldn't even think about doing all the spots you recommended in that episode. Now, you confound me with more of the cornucopia that is Melbourne SMM again. How do I start other than get on the 7:44 fast train and see how much I can delight in before saying, "Yeah, that's enough." Bless you M
Hi Mark, thanks so much for the message! So neat you went to Lil Lane and I totally agree that they’re very hefty sandwiches 😆 We hear Ballarat has a lively food scene so can’t wait to explore that one day soon. Hope you enjoy your next sojourn to the city- happy eating! And let us know what you tick off your list next! Cheers, Sheena
omg i know the feeling ! we ate a porchetta sandvich in italy in april .... we are still drooooooling thinking about it. and urs look sooooooo goooooood
If you're still in melbs, maybe you could try Dandenong market! Another idea is to visit the best gluten free spots in Melbourne 😅 (for us gluten-freers)
I'm goin to send my daughter to that market her and I love oysters and to try that sandwich yarmmy😋😋 the bangers and parmie looked very delicious too... bubba wanted some🤭🥰 thanks for another yummy meal trip bless💚🙏💞
Thanks for watching! We’ve eaten there a number of times and we filmed there two years ago (check the older videos on the channel) so didn’t visit this time. Hope you enjoyed the video. Cheers, Thomas
You guys have to please try “Bula Bites” it’s located in the western suburbs… 614 Ballarat rd. Authentic Fijian food! Sooo good! Lamb curry and chicken chop suey is a must!! Hidden gem in melbourne!
I live 5 min away from Bula bites. The tuna curry roti parcels are to die for!! The curries were also tasty! Very underrated and needs more recognition in melbourne !
If you guys ever go to the Gold Coast go to Mike's Kitchen for the best pub/South African food they do an African version of chicken parmi & bangers & mash... Also THE BEST ribs & sticky date pudding (also a devine chocolate mousse).... Watch out, the portions are HUGE!
Never been to South Melbourne market, looks good but have you ever had such a nice thick sandwich that when you take a massive bite your jaw locks 😱 not much fun but food is life 🇦🇺👍🇦🇺
I'am loving the content guys , please be careful in Melborne as it is becoming so violent according to to the new mayor to be elected . probably ok in daylight , but don't take a risk , cheers Alister in Ballarat.
5/6 years ago I would of recommended and taken all my family to Victoria Street Richmond for some fantastic Vietnamese food and culture...now I wouldn't go near the place it's so sad what the area has become since 'safe' injecting room was established
Not my experience at all. Few clowns about like anywhere like any big city but I have never felt unsafe in Melbourne and I have lived here over 20 years both east and west, inner and outer burbs. Unnerved a few times but never unsafe.
Thanks so much for your concern Alister 💜 No matter where we are, we make sure to always be aware of our surroundings. So happy you’re enjoying the content! Cheers, Sheena
Thanks for watching Emma. If food safety guidelines are followed and hands are washed to avoid cross contamination, bare hands can be a lot safer than gloves where there is often cross contamination as people often keep them on after handling food to do other jobs, then return to handling food. I’ve never seen gloves used in kitchens in fine dining establishments for example. Cheers, Sheena
@@ChasingaPlateI didn’t know that but it’s good to know. Why don’t you speak about the pricing in your videos and if you think the items are worth it or not, this is what I’m tuning in for. Are these things value for money or not?
We often show the menu in the video. We don’t normally talk through the pricing because it’s just much easier for people to see all the information in the description. Re value that’s a highly subjective thing so I don’t feel it’s a topic that would make sense for us to touch on. People would need to make their own mind up on that. In saying that we only eat amazing food and we’re not going to waste our money on something we don’t think gives us value. Cheers, Thomas
