Hahaha nah Koala Tina. I climbed up into a tree and pretended to be a koala. Tourists couldn't tell the difference. LOL I still haven't finished building that Lego house I started when I was 6. Sooo.. there ya go. Gotta do the coastal drive to Melbourne some time with Helmi!
Actually the first thing you should have done on leaving Melbourne is to head southeast down the South Gippsland Hwy to Wilson’s Promontory, a national park on the southernmost tip of Australia with the most beautiful scenery and beaches in the country. Next time maybe. ; )
Epic trip Tina. We’ll have to do this one day. Looking forward to part 2. That beach is looking pretty amazing! We’d probably always take the coastal route. Love those ocean views.
Definitely chuck it on the bucket list.. or you guys could make an even more epic trip all the way from Townsville! Maybeeee.. when the kids are a bit older haha. We struggled enough with our 2 rowdy boys confined inside a car for 10 hours.
The inland route is so much quicker but it's sooooo much more boring. 😁 Gorgeous koalas, I just read that they are becoming even more endangered than they already were so it's great there's a place where they are reasonably safe. The Folly is amazingly pretty!! Awesome to hear it's off grid too.
Wow the Folly looks great! Would be awesome to live in an off the grid home. Just needa make sure you have enough protection from all those poisonous critters out there. The place is massive so impressive 😎👌
Hahaha, we just recently did the forgettable inland route in reverse, on an overnight bus! And guess what, we've already forgotten it 😂🤣Hunt them 😱Koala steaks 😂 This looks like it would be an amazing road trip and gotta love a holiday park, even if not a family, great for groups 😉
Hey, me and my boyfriend want to do this drive. As 19 year olds we cannot get a hire car cause they triple the price for our age. But we could afford a campervan as it means it covers both our travel and our accommodation. Would you recommend a campervan for this route? Are there places we would be able to shower and park up xxx
Campervans are fantastic for this route as there are lot of holiday parks and campervan sites you can stop by. they have showers, bbqs, park your campervan (power / non powered), swimming pools, laundry, etc. A lot of them are very affordable and there are different price range depending on the site you stay at. Hope that helps and have a fantastic roadtrip!
