I have been needing for a guide which explains to me why it can be good to try for spacing and not just hitting my opponent. This is great. It's also very helpful and gives insight that you can't get from just analysis.
Yes it can be a strong occasional mixup, I like it especially against Sheik. Dtilt obviously comes out slow so it loses to them hitting a fast button (jump) but it frame traps slow options and naturally beats Sheik trying to shield grab the timing for fair -> jab. Its long range also works well with fair because you can do full spaced fair -> full spaced dtilt quite safely. Sheik is also a character where grab doesn't lead to too much and dtilt can start a sick combo.
Thank you for the guide, this’ll really help my game out. Do you have any tips for dealing with laser camping Foxes? I had just started playing in tournaments and in my loser’s bracket I ran into a Fox that would only run away on Dreamland and laser camp, jumping to the top platform and running away when I’d get close. Half of it I’d say is my crappy movement and inexperience, but I was wondering if there are any good answers to this tactic.
Watch Llod beat Kaeon (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-HwgXsg3WaF4.html). TL;DR he uses unpredictable approaches and positioning on side platforms to force fox to choose an evasive option off the top platform and then slowly punishes those decisions. Once he gets a lead, it becomes a lot more straightforward. It's definitely a pain in the ass for sure though.
