You marry and devote your life to another with the understanding that you are special to your spouse . That you are his / her world. That whatever the world thinks of you , your partner knows that you are irreplaceable . And then you find that all of these cherished beliefs were false . That you are not so special after all . Belinda tells the story of everyone of us who had experienced the trauma of deep betrayal . Anger and rage, hurt and tears , revenge and then acceptance. For some it takes years to come to the phase of acceptance. She seems to be adjusting very well . But the pain lingers and the hurt remains even if it lessens over time. It’s great that both can come together to accomplish the work of the foundation . Such maturity! In a divorce it’s possible to be courteous and civil while not being friends. A powerful message from Belinda for all of us.
