Yes that’s why I left the profession. I started working in schools at 17 and now 32. I loved my kids, I loved changing lives, but it just isn’t solely about that anymore. I’m about to be a mom and I want to be able to be around for my kids and family. I’m always traumatized and wonder when (not if) I’ll be shot down dead by these killers….and for my own sanity I had to leave.

"Teachers aren’t paid well..." This is BS. Teachers are paid VERY well. They don't work all year long, and don't earn 12 months worth of salary. They're OVERPAID for their actual skills. Most grade school teachers make between $60K and $80K. They're in a UNION, so they're paid MORE than they would earn in the REAL World, where their actual skills are worth squat. "...and their lives are in danger smh." Most schools have NEVER experienced a school shooting. They're statistically VERY safe.

There is a new story from an old event that I have never heard of until right now. She then when on to say she went to go get her first grader and she did not remember if he was in lockdown or not... BOOM.. DONE... She lost me right there. LIES is what she was selling.. Trust me this type of event is one of those that if you had to actually live through you would never forget.... Every second of it would stay in your head and play nonstop on a loop... You would not just not remember where you child was and if you were able to make your way to them or not. This just goes to show yet once again how much evil is in this world and how it feels the need to stay in power and control everything at any cost.

Would you rather they not practice what to do in the event of a lunatic coming to their school? Back when I was a kid we had firs drills that we had to do. Nobody cried nobody's heart broke as it was seen as a good idea as to what to do in case of a fire. It was meant to teach us how to respond in a manner that would help us to survive. I also remember kids that came to school and had gun racks in the back window of their trucks. Those gun racks were also full - with guns and ammo as well. Now, here is the craziest part of all of it.... NOBODY EVER DIED because of that either.

Do it, homeschooling. I homeschool my 5-year old niece. She tested at 2nd grade levels because I got to focus on her instead of waiting for 29 other kids to catch up. I'm not worried about her being social - she's a child so naturally social. She has a ton of respect and great manners I'm sure a school wouldn't teach her; schools just make sure our kids are robots and can conform to rules and schedules. Want a super intelligent, kind-hearted child? Homeschool her/him. Other kids will just taint her/him. 💜

When I was in high school Sandy Hook shooting happened, and then another one. When I graduated, I thought now I don't have to worry about school shootings, but now I have kids and now I'm worried about them so many keep happening

Well I live in Nashville and had been considering putting my kids in private school next year as an alternative to homeschool. My girl’s current school always has a police cruiser on site. Today they had the police car in the center of the school yard…just to make people aware there is a major police presence there. It made me feel better, but we never know…😢

I would not send them to school for sure!

I thank god every day my daughter is home schooling her children ! No bullying, kids get a real education and there safe !
