I have been a guitar junky for many years and a few years back I bought a 6 string bass . I will be honest haven't really given the attention it deserves but seeing the way you play so melodically has really given me the urge dig it out and give it some love Inspirational stuff man. Thank you

I look at it with the approach of a full range instrument like a piano its like a bass and guitar blended together. Thank you though that means alot, its always nice to hear an awesome melody!

Hey Nick, this is so beautiful and inspiring. Very good playing and just an awesome song that you created. I'm hope that I can also play such beautiful music on my six string bass some day. Keep up your work and share your music. This video just hasn't got the clicks it would deserve. cheers!

Keep up the great work, man. I just went back and watched all your other bass videos. You've got great slapping technique, play really cleanly, and seem to have a great recording setup. Good job on the video editing to bring multiple track playthroughs together. I saw in the comments on one of your other videos that you're trying to get more subscribers. I'm no expert, but I noticed a couple of things. Your bass videos aren't all in the category of "music", some are in "comedy" even. I'm not sure how that effects search results, but it probably doesn't help. A lot of musicians on here have a Facebook page for their RU-vid channel as well. Being active outside of your own channel is probably important, whichever format it's on. Some of them also have gear listed in their video descriptions and post somewhat frequently. You might also want to look into tagging your videos, that does help you pop up in search results. As silly as it sounds, a lot of people are probably searching for covers when they look for bass videos. Maybe longer videos or more technique/gear/tone comparisons? That being said, your playing alone warrants more views than you've got, not including the editing and recording skill. 199 subscribers and counting. *high five*

Thanks man! I really appreciate it! I might look into marketing certain videos, I post these videos on facebook but I only have so many friends!! I will definitely take your advice! I didn't know I had certain videos in certain categories I'll have to edit that and put them in the right category! I do use alot of different tags that represent what people might search for. As far as the editing yes, Sometimes when I'm writing these bass lines I layer and I like to show people what all is going on. Sometimes it's just straight through though but it just depends on how I want the compostion to sound! Anyways there will be More melodic bass lines to come since I just put this bass back together!

I am curious. Other than the body color and the neck, what makes your bass custom?

@Halfpastseven

Wow! Glad I could inspire you into getting one. What kind did you get?
@AngusSheehan
@AngusSheehan 7 лет назад
Ibanez GIO (GSR206) in a gorgeous dark walnut finish with visible wood grain. It has a really flat neck and low action which is helping a lifelong guitar player like myself make the move to bass as comfortable as possible. I had originally thought of saving up and buying a nice Ernie Ball Stingray...but what you do here really opened my mind to the finger-picking possibilities a six-string offers. And for real, this video was on replay for like fifteen minutes when I first came across it. Perfectly chill.
@Halfpastseven

Thats awesome! Ibanez makes awesome basses! I hear ya, you can't play melodies like this on a 5 string unless you tune it up to pitch. Instead of goin through all that trouble you just get the 6 and its just more broad than a 5.. it extends the range farther and you have access to more notes in one spot, rather than moving your hands farther up the neck to hit the higher notes.
