That was so good ! Just a quick question if I may, did you use your Sub 37 in this track or any other hardware synth, or just stock Ableton virtual instruments ?
Cheers! For this track I used the Sub 37 for the arp and I believe for a part of the bass as well. I recorded the Sub 37 with the filter wide open and then I add a filter via Ableton/Push 3 which I can control live. Besides the Moog, I use Ableton stock plugins and Serum as well.
Really enjoyed this, Kevin! Can I ask - say someone wanted to compose similar music via a DAW, opposed to performing/live mixing the track as you do here, what would be the most user friendly and/or efficient way of creating the percussion? Would you recommend something like a Digitakt with Overbridge, a VST, or something else? Cheers
@@ChewyLoo Hi, glad you enjoyed it. I guess it depends on what you like and what you want to invest. Let's say you have Ableton then you already have plenty of options for percussion. You can process samples or use various Ableton software synths and tools to create percussion. I used the Digitakt for years as the heart of my setup and I sold it a few weeks ago as there was too much overlap. All the samples I had on the Digitakt, I had in Ableton (and Push 3) as well. Ableton offers way more options and you cannot really beat it for the price. If you like pushing buttons, turning knobs and want to go the hardware way then the Syntakt might be a good option for creating new sounds, or the Digitone. Loved that machine for a variety of things as well. Of course there are plenty of other good brands but I only used Elektron. Apologies for the lengthy reply. Hope it somewhat helps. Cheers
@@kevinverkindt Very helpful, thank you! I already own Ableton so I'll commit to that route for starters and see how it fits. Subbed and looking forward to your next upload
