Ok but I stored some... photos from.... rupals drag race in my melodica, and my band teacher took my melodica and pulled the back off to show the whole class how a melodica works. I forgot about the pictures until he opened it up to the whole class.
A lot of people treat and view the melodica as a 'joke instrument', the ukulele was viewed for a long time in the same manner until it really got a more respectful and popular following. The melodica is really a great instrument that is play professionally, and regardless of poorly made attempt for humor in this video, do look else ware for cleaning tips.
If you want to remove the rust, you can get a tub of vinigar and put the reed boards into it for about 3 hours. After, use a small steel wire brush and scrape the rust off. For tuning you'll need a sharpened pocket knife and you'll need a chromatic tuner also.
What is the definition of perfect pitch? When you throw an accordion and hit a bagpipe. What do you get with an accordion and a bagpipe love each other very much? A melodica.
There is a way. Buy a good melodica that has bronze phosphor reeds, a Yamaha or a metal tray Suzuki. But I'm afraid Finn is mistaken about the discoloration on melodica reeds. It is typically not rust, and in most cases doesn't affect the sound of the reed.
Nope, but thats not of great concern. Depending on how heavy you use them you have to tune the reeds anyways once or twice a year. The reedsgo out of tune because of fatigue, not oxidation.
It’s been 4 years but my banana is still good. (Taste tested, 100% sure) Does this mean I can just send it back to Hohner to has it cleaned it out and all that?
So this means that melodicas are really disposable and all we can do is I guess clean them often to avoid rust but they sill fail in the end. Right? So how expensive class melodicas are worth buying and dispose of after some time?
I've never opened my melodica and cleaned it (because I just scared mess up with tuning) for around 12 years, you can see my video if you wanna see A lot of keys already detuning, I don't know if is it worth it to buy new melodica or just spend some of my money to fix this problem Do you have a dumb guide for me, what should I do to fix up this problem x_x
Juan Ema depends on how often I play it. after every play I suggest shaking the excess moisture out of the tube and the spit valve. When I was playing my melodica everyday I would give a thorough clean every 3-4 months. probably wasn't enough as you can see the red one went out of tune
