Not a critic at all but I want to let you know as a Swede and a longtime viewer of both Melodifestivalen and Eurovision. Bottom line, it’s not all about winning, it’s about the experience. A song like Miraklenas Tid and Carpool Karaoke isn’t trying to win and go to Eurovision, but instead are old artists who just want to experience the nostalgia and have fun. Likewise many younger artists like ovö are just trying to get their names out there and recognized. People in Sweden don’t connect melfest to Eurovision because it has its own identity with laughter and excitement (probably even more so than the politically tensioned Eurovision). Just wanted to make sure you were aware of the concept behind it. Although some countries might just throw out a song with a one day national selection, sweden has its own competition that has become a staple of our culture. Don’t be so quick to throw everything down just because it wouldn’t pass for Eurovision. Accept the beauty in the originality instead. Have a great day

I agree. Vamos amigos is such a standard and forgettable song. I mean, you can listen to 37.843 silimar songs anywhere. IMO Anna's song deserves a top-3 position👍

Although I agree that Sweden does everything very calculated, I have to disagree on that being the reason why Sweden ranks so low in televoting. Since 2016 I was never fully satisfied by any Swedish entry, the reason was mostly the songs themselves...they were never good enough or had mix views. Although still calculated, this year Dotter: 1. brings a really original concept on the table (human disco ball) 2. is a woman which Sweden hasn't sent for 6 years, 3. has an iconic appearance and she is full of emotional expression 4. the song is actually much better than the ones from the last 4 years. So trust me, if there are any reasons why Sweden doesn't do well by televoters the last years, is not because its performances are calculated (that's actually a good thing).

Last year Sweden was 9th in televoting, Which isnt really failing since John wasnt a big favorite :)

ParalimniVoice We can agree to disagree. If you need calculated (down to the tinyest bit) stage shows, its because the song is’nt good enough by itself. A good song doesnt need a lot of stage effects/gimmicks. Its not a good thing when people doesnt get a connection with the performance, is it? I dont think the songs in Melodifestivalen has changed a lot the last 5-6 years. Its the same type of songs really. Human disco ball? Is that how you see it? Sweden often «borrows» stage show ideas from other’s though, I have meny examples. If that is considered to be low, which countries are you comparing Sweden to? How many countries has been in the top 10 in the *televoting* more times than in the last decade? Problem is We Will never win again due to televote, jury gives us high points and that makes public mad so we always get low tele points. Yes we get some extra points from neighbours but blockvoting is not only a Benefit for Sweden. I think main reason we get a lot of jury points is because Sweden is a well known country for producing good popular music. And that is what we are doing in ESC

Zelda B we have sent good songs almost every year and that went good until they showed jury and televote separated in 2016.Then it got clear we always got a lot jury points (mostly cause we send good songs, not like Russia when ppl just Afraid to get attacked by military) wich made the public mad so they started not to vote for us, therefore we haven’t got that good results lately.

@@viggodannstedt5885 I have to be honest , I have found the Swedish entries over the last couple of years very predictable. Its always a perfect pop production with great visuals but no soul. Its feels like a formula. It's not that they are bad , but they're not great either. So if I feel like that, maybe others feel the same? Maybe that's why you dont get the telly votes ?

Hey Hanna, I'm from Cyprus. As a non swede I think you have some notably good songs for eurovision, especially in comparison to 2018 and 2019(2017 wasn't a that bad MF year). Dotter, who I assume you don't consider as a strong card, has a very thoughtful stage direction. That combined with a very radio friendly song could do miracles! I really love it and I admit I will vote for Sweden if you decide to send her. But of course, the mamas or even Anna could be a nice fit as well but trust me... they won't impress the public as much (although the mamas can be voted the best by jury). In the end, it's up to you. Choose wisely :)

@@Helena96 I'm-... Ärligt talat anser jag att Bulletproof inte är så bra som alla säger. Den är mycket svagare som låt än ni alla tror. Men förstås är Sverige alltid en av de mest omtyckta varje år. Därför vore jag inte överraskad om låten gjorde väl. Men den är inte nåt fantastiskt, ni har (haft) bättre låtar.
