Today I'm taking a look at the new Melodious support that we will get in the TCG in the upcoming set Legacy Of Destruction. The deck got multiple 1/2 card combos and alot of room for non-engine. i expect it to be a solid rogue strategy.
a few questions: 1. why do you play 2 Sonata instead of 3? 2. what is the reasoning behind playing Couplet first and then NS Refrain? 3. why even bother playing Abyss Dweller when you have Schuberta? 4. any thoughts about playing Nibiru in this deck and ways to remove Nib from your field to be able to play Ostinato/1st Movement Solo?
I found that 2 sonata 1 conan is enough but you can cut the duster for a 3rd sonata if youd like. I just like having duster in main especially with prosperity being able to fetch it and also thrust if u end up siding that. I play couplet first just to check for a hand trap like ogre etc before committing to my normal. Its neither here or there, you can normal refrain first but i feel like couplet first is slightly more optimal. Dweller is good against gy effects like against mannadium for example or even fire kings. Obviously schubarta is still phenomenal in that match up but having dweller on top its a gg. Also dweller plays better into super poly or even DRNM if those end up being more playable. But its definitely a flex spot, if you think having another rank 4 for specific match ups that you struggle with is better than play it. For nibiru and bystials, you can play em if you want and use sky striker azalea that im already playing in the extra deck to link them off with one of your monsters then pop something while clearing your board. Droplet also helps
@@alexYu-gi-oh thanks for the explanation. seems reasonable. also I thought about using Donner to get rid of Nib but Droplet sounds very good and I haven't thought about it
@@alexYu-gi-oh Imperm can't negate a card until its effect resolves. this works for a different reason. Bacha is phrased "While you control this Fusion Summoned card, the activated effects of your "Melodious" Fusion Monsters cannot be negated". and Imperm doesn't negate the activated effect, it negates targeted card effects and Bacha doesn't protect from such interaction. so, you can't Ash Blossom it, but you can Imperm
How strange that you don't use TamTam to look for polymerization or polymerization substitute, it is very good since its effect also recovers it from the graveyard, although the best effect is being able to make a chain to protect your most important effects, for example Bacha's . I also find it strange not to see Elegia to do the lock, protection and ATK boost very good, the only bad thing is her level
These are all respectable options but mu reasoning behind not playing them is the fact they increase bricking and decrease the number of going 2nd cards. Poly is a bad draw, elegy is a bad draw and even tamtam is awkward to draw compared to the other melodious stuff. You are already playing some necessary awkward draws like shopina so i dont wanna make that worse. Also, i think aria alone is enough vs 99% of situations. Targeting protection is almost always gonna be enough.
@alexYu-gi-oh right like you're placing your monsters in defense so lightning storm doesn't do it, imperm doesn't work, if they have droplet they gotta pitch more than what feels good to stop your combo. It's just usually better to play fewer bricks yeah.
