Hi Dean! Glad you’re back! I think it would be cool if you made some beginner tutorials for those just starting MP soap, that way in future videos you could just refer to the video with a link, that way you don’t have to explain everything every time 😀
This frangipani is one of my granddaughters (12years old) favorites. She started making MP soap six months ago after watching your videos. We are in NZ and heard about the big fire too. Thank you for making your videos easy to follow and understand. 😊
Yes i have an idea about melt and pour but more knowledge is always a bonus so yes beginners videos are needed, by the way love your videos, they really open my eyes to how melt and pour really works especially when it comes to temperature so please do more videos ❤❤❤
Hi Dean, I love the design of this soap. I just wanted to let you know that I have used the Avocado and Mint FO in a couple of M&P soaps that I have made. They turned out really well. I used a green and clear combination with a drop swirl. Keep up the good work and stay safe.
Hi Dean I am so glad you are back I have watched every single video you put out there :) I am so thrilled you took my suggestion for the soap and it turned out fantastic !!! I made some of my own melt in pour soaps but I never thought to video it... plus tell me how you cut so straight??? I can not do it for the life of me
Cutting is a hit and miss for me, i would be half way down and the knife movies and then its all un-even. I try to look down the knife from the top and go slow.
I learned m&p by trial and error about 25 years ago, using a sub par base and cheap fragrance and colors. Then I learned I could buy better quality stuff online and my Mom decided I was having too much fun with it and decided to help, lol. A beginners video would have been very helpful.
The only think I use melt and pour for is embeds for my cold process. I'd love to learn more about melt and pour! I'm sure it would sell well! I just have a problem and with my high watt American microwave. It scorches everything. I never use it to make products, period. I use a double boiler for everything! I think a series on beginners melt and pour would be awesome! Everyone thinks melt and pour is easy, I say not so fast! It's a skill like anything else and I need help!
I always use to use a double boiler to melt my M&P base but now I use a microwave. I need to be quick when remelting. When I had my retail shop it was fine as the boiler was on all the time.
I am so glad to see you back. There are very few people on here that do MP soaps. I have a question. When do you package them up? I have heard everything from as soon as they cool down to a week. BTW, those are beautiful
Every time you melt soap you are removing some of the fragrance, the heat will burn that away, but I have remelted Melt & Pour soap a lots of times before it was unusable. I would say 10 times maybe. I personally wouldn't melt it anymore then that from Hot to cold and back to hot.
It takes time to get it right but once you understand the temps and what each base will do and react its a lot easier. If you like my channel, also check out Koala Soap. She does a lot of melt and pour. ru-vid.com/show-UCNDIwMJ_Cr7gFZxp5E0DQZA
Great job! Why did you use suspending base if you weren't suspending anything It? Or is it just the base you had at the time? It looks like you made 3/4 of the soap light green and it sunk into the darker green, kinda like light green floating in the dark green! Yup, "no Dean, put mica in RA" and I smiled and shook my head when you added other mica in. Laughed when you commented. This helps me though too. M&P lesson from Dean? Absolutely! Even though I'm an experienced hobbiest, it's good to see other people's techniques, I have been having trouble with double burner (trouble with tempt of water making soap too hot). So went back to microwave. Thanks again!
Very informative! Good video! Question... how do you organize your colors and scents, Dean? Or do you at all? I'm finding it difficult to keep track of what changes the color or what color is allowed in soap but not in bath fizzies. Anyway, I'm asking around because I need a system lol I was thinking about a recipe box of note cards? Anyway, Glad you're back!
how do you get the M&P base to look so liquidy? when I melt mine, I do the 30 second bursts and stir.. but after the 3rd-4th time.. it starts to get foamy on top and stick to the sides of the container and it's not even all melted yet. it's a mess.
Hello! Thanks for sharing your skills. Interested in making melt & pour soap. Can you suggest budget friendly products to start with. I have the obvious items in my Amazon cart. TIA
Hmm, I'm not so sure I like the subtle bumps in the layers, it looks too much like layers gone wrong. It's still nice though and love that colour of green. Thanks for sharing.
I still have a hard time keeping layered soap from separating! I've watched the last video a few times but I think there must be a trick somewhere to get them to stay stuck together?! I'll have to try again to figure it out. Sigh!
