I work as a therapist within the LGBTQ+ community and the consequences of the views as expressed in the description, (LGBTQ+ love and sexual activity described and judged as a sin) are truly devastating, traumatic and life long. Even if those views aren't expressed explicitly as they are here, the effects are felt. I work with human beings, they are human beings that I sit with and listen to, with lives, loves and struggles, not 'sinners'. I dread to think of the views on reproductive rights

I agree I've had to unsubscribe. Only through I believe everyone in the world should be treated with respect and love and I do not feel I can follow someone who views love as a sin. I feel bad for anyone who has went through trauma with religion and their sexuality and use asmr to relieve stress and be met with hostility. A lot of pride month was met with homophobic and hurtful comments. A few asmr channels pointed this out. I feel everyone can have personal views but if they're negative or may be harmful to keep them off a place that's supposed to be a calming and relaxing area of the Internet. That's the difference, this isn't a debate channel yet some viewers are using personal beliefs to shout down others, it's no longer a good community

I understand that faith will always be important, especially when it is your own Faith, but I think there's a big issue amongst most faiths when it comes to views on LGBTQ+ people. Isn't it strange to think that people choosing to love each other & themselves is a Sin, something so simple and reasonable. I really wish more people who believe in God & have a faith, wouldn't follow these rhetorics of the LGBTQ+ being a Sinful group, among other things such as Abortion, Exploration of Identity, etc. It seems more and more that people want to believe whole heartedly in the Bible, but refuse to follow it's text interpretation in other Areas that have just been prooven to be outdated & from a time we have advanced from. My understanding is that the scene as depicted in the Olympics was a homage to Dionysus, not The Last Supper? If one believes that any sexual activity outside of marriage between a man and a woman is a sin then it it would follow that one believes that sexual activity between LGBTQ+ peoples is a 'sin'. It is a contradiction and it is anti-LGBTQ. (Certain) Christian's are just really good at being hypocritical and denying the logical inconsistencies in their beliefs because they don't want to believe they are hurting or discriminating against people. It's why they insist that being queer is a choice or a result of demon possession or that expecting celibacy from queer people/continuing to exist in a constant stage of psychological pain for trans people is somehow reasonable and not cruel or discriminatinatory. Because if they admit that being queer isn't a choice, and that limiting how queer people get to live their lives/the rights they get to have is discrimination, then suddenly they also have to admit their beliefs are bigoted and harmful. But they don't want to do that, so they use all sorts of manipulative tactics to avoid admiting this. Framing being queer as a 'choice' or 'belief system' or 'ideology' that can be disagreed with and not an inherent, unchosen, and often immutable part of someone's personhood, so that they don't seem like they're attacking people, they're 'disagreeing with an opinion'. Framing their bigotry as a religious belief the must be respected because apparently if something is associated with God in any way it immediately warrants unconditional respect without scrutiny regardless of how harmful or illogical it may be. And if harmful beliefs they _do_ possess are criticised or called out as harmful or even scrutinised at all, then actually _they're_ the victims and they're experiencing religious oppression, despite the fact that this criticism is coming about _because_ of their discriminatinatory beliefs and desire to limit the lives and rights of an entire group of people. And despite the fact that, in many Western countries Christians are the dominant religion and are not actually opressed in any way shape or form, in fact they get away with a lot of harmful things. But apparently not having your beliefs placed at the centre of everything and unconditionally respected and followed by everyone constitutes oppression for many Christians.

@vader930 Right. Marriage equality is an essential civil right. Western democracies are organized around the rule of law, equal rights, and equal protection under the law. Our governments are imperfect in practice, but democracies are not theocracies. People are free to practice their faith, but they may not impose their faith on others. Marriage equality is fair, just, ethical, moral, and legal in Western democracies, regardless of whether various religions agree or not. Furthermore, labeling lgbtq people as sinners is anti-lgbtq. It doesn't absolve someone to say love the sinner, hate the sin bc that view still judges lgbtq people as sinful for merely living and loving. I'm going to have to stay out of the discussion part of this channel for a stretch bc the homophonic rhetoric and the religious justification of homophobia are deeply troubling to me. There are plenty of Christians who do not follow a conservative, orthodox form of Christianity, who embrace all people and who do not think lgbtq people are sinful. That belief is held by conservative and fundamentalist Christians, not by all Christians.

I think that your Faith, your Religion should be something between you and God. I don't need to convince anybody that my Religion is the only right way, and I don't want to be proselytised by anyone else. If we would all do it that way, we would have less wars, less hate, less violence. I don't need to go to church to be a better Person. I don't get sad about an Opening Ceremony others just loved. I get sad about thousands of Refugees having to drown in the Meditareanean. Children drown and not many People seem to be half as disgusted than they are about some Party at Paris. That guy's testicle wasn't hanging out, there was a rip in his tights. This was debunked almost immediately after it happened, and if you'd done the slightest bit of research you would have known that. Christians preaching about love and acceptance, while at the same time blowing fake news out of proportion at the expense of an oppressed minority is nothing new, unfortunately. We've seen it before, we are going to keep seeing it.
One commenter called the depiction “Playful Art”? An almost nude man dancing near a child with his privates out? What message is this suppose to represent as playful or even family friendly? Many families and children gather to watch the Olympics together. Regardless of your beliefs, we should all find this distasteful at least. You don’t have to be Christian to believe that was offensive, unnecessary, and not playful. Faith or no faith, I’m surprised more people are not offended and outraged about what this young girl was exposed too. Regardless of what it was meant to represent, I would not label it as “playful art”.
It looks like the person has edited there comment to remove “playful art”, which makes me believe we can all agree the depiction and that statement was distasteful regardless of religion or what it was representing.
