In 1vs1 he's a beast, in 4s he's... low. Considering his ultimate can be interrupted you'll OFTEN have teammates who will be braindead and keep spamming even if you get the move, thus wasting all your souls.

He is pretty good in duels, but holy crap 4v4 its a whole different story (by that i mean he really struggles to get the stab even if he has the souls)

A detail I’ve noticed is that both weapons that are used in an attack direction are stored in the same place, for example the light and heavy weapons used on top attacks are on Sohei’s left shoulder, and the two weapons used for left attacks are on his hip

This guy is probably some of the most fun I've had on a new hero in a long time

Saw the thumbnail and I was like "damn even Havok is on in on Heihachi's comeback...wait a minute!" And he mentioned him @3:09 XD. We can just call him SoHeihachi. I have yet to try this hero, he seems fun by the looks of it. Glad they're trying something new this time.

Haven't got him yet but from what I've seen, he has a bit of a struggle in 4v4s. And the damage from base to combos seems very little, and can see the most powerful attack being adjusted without a doubt. But if his base and combo damage gets buffed and the strike move gets toned down a bit it may be a fair trade. Plus it could be a possibility to see a little hyper armor so he can handle better in 4v4 modes. But cool character overall.

I can't play him until he's available for steels but i've tried him in training and in dom vs others'. In dom, he's so fun. much better than varangian guard and ocelot. they've done an amazing job creating something new for a change

So I’m assuming dodge attacks will be a good counter to his zone. As if you press attack the moment after you’ve dodged, you essentially can’t be gb’d out of it.

Ocelotl: amazing movement but no gimmicks Vangarian: amazing gimmick but not moveset New hero: good moveset with amazing gimmick

honestly just tweak his second feat lower the damage of the big stab and make it so he can do light into heavy and vice versa (because let’s be honest as nice as it is that he’s unique he basically gets shut down by people who can react.) and he’s genuinely a perfect hero.

first impressions in the dominion scene at least, he’s not very impressive

I LOVE SOHEI!!! This guy is, as of today, sharing Kensei's title as my favorite Samurai! Well played, Havok! On a side note: does anyone else feel like the voice actor for Inosuke from Demon Slayer acted for Sohei? His battle cries give me Inosuke vibes, and I love it!

He's pretty fun, he's way too interruptible though imo, especially in 4s. Being frame disadvantaged all the time really sucks. Glad we got a unique hero though.

I think whether or not this hero is good, or fun, this is a new approach that is good for the game overall. They can apply this sort of philosophy to other sorts of 'ultimates' or other more mechanical designs.

Dudes cool, but yk, for being a weapon master with 7 weapons and not being able to light to heavy chain, and bascially have the same repeated moves doesnt give him the feeling of having a versatile kit. Definitely a specialist for sure. And for being a heavy with low damage is interesting. Felt like he could be alot better if they didnt have to balance a 90 damage execution basically with his base damage. Maybe just give the big hit for 40. and give him more chain options.

I advise waiting a week before getting him, I see the impale move damage going down to 50 or even less as soon as the hero is not behind a forced paywall lmao

The seven-force strike honestly reminds me of Anakin’s Retribution ability in Battlefront II when the character first came out, you should ask Zanny his opinions on for honor’s new win button

sohei is super cool, only thing I wish is that the weapons he has changed appearance with each different torso set, or being able to customize them individually but having them in sets is probably more realistic.

So understandably.. ganking/ interrupting the living daylights out of this new Hero is absolutely the best counter. Cool new play style and move set! 👍🏻

Also I love the soul stab thing cause the VA is so great during it. It feels gratifying as hell when you kill with it.

I think he's overall weak. Obviously Duels he's a lot stronger but his Kit lacks a lot aside from the 1 shot. The intro montage shows why the bash shouldnt be guaranteed on a heavy parry

I may be very wrong on this but just from what i'm seeing, he looks to be VERY reliant on that 1 single high damage attack. So much so that he doesn't seem to have much other playstyles other than "get charges, big attack." I feel like they need to buff the other attacks a bit and nerf the high damage attack slightly (maybe 85 damage? 80? insttead of 95) to make his playstyle a bit more......random?

While I do appreciate the GB usage to fill the souls, I personally like to get each individual weapon filled. The heavy left is one of my favorite animations and the top bonk is so satisfying

After the match he decided to become yoshitsunes right hand man. They fought and won so many battles together. Long story short once they got betrayed and were surrounded. Knowing that defeat was sure, minamoto wanted to commit hara kiri. Benkei single-handedly fended off an entire army so his master could commit a hara kiri. After several hours of being riddled with slash wounds and arrows, he still stood his ground. The soldiers were scared to approach him. After several hours, he was still standing. It was after a long time after they realised that he died while standing. Chad

In duels he’s pretty good but in any team fight situation so far that I’ve seen he’s very lackluster, he’s fairly predictable and you can almost just ignore him. Still he’s a very cool character so I’m happy with the release

Had some duels agains him, and lost only 1 round. probably because everyone I fought was overfocusing on landing those hits, not guardbreaks. also pretty much every one I fought, if they got to red, instantly tried to bash from neutral, which was easy to punish.

My suggestion with him would be give him some heavy soft feints and the main gimmick is cool so why not encourage soul spending by making it so you can access the impale by consuming 3 souls but obviously scaled down accordingly if you want the full big boy damage it takes 6 but having 3 souls on you represented by a different color flame makes the opponent think twice

I have not played him yet or fought him, but seems like they should make the guardbreak only get two hits, that way you have to get at least 3 guardbreaks to fully charge. In practice that might not make a huge difference though if you alread have a few lights. In that case just give him one hit and make it regular damage.

Imo the new hero doesnt put enough pressure to force a GB which you need to get his Gimmick attack. Without that singular attack he is the worst character in the game.

Getting the hang of his flow is tricky at first, but the payoff is massive. Really cool character

Played a few dominion games against a bunch of this hero today. They definitely make anti-ganking more of a challenge with the presence of their one-shot ability.

I like the new hero, just wish Ubisoft didn't fumble the sound design on the executions. it feels very under whelming for most of them.

I actually quite like Sohei but i just got to mention i was running to a zone next to a Highlander teammate and he looked like a child it was hilarious unless i had a weird angle but still i didn't realise how big he was Also just noticed the Final Fantasy Chocobo theme at the beginning

Finally a cool character. Better than filthy vg afeera and ocelot.

Its important that we give the constructive feedback as a community because we want unique character and if we want them to keep this train going that means they will be more open to different avenue so before anyone complain remember that this is what we want and need in this game so dont complain like a bunch of babys its insufferable.

In duel he works very well, but in invasion or dominion, it's pretty difficult I need to play more with him to get better

People saying he’s bad in 4s and he’s not amazing no but he is fun still. I think people are just not used to a character being immediately great in everything. He’ll get his changes, rn I think it’s best to just get used to the fundamentals.

I love the idea of this kind of op it makes your opponents to use their brain and stop spamming or they will get deleted instantly

i think the Special-Attack-Damage should get reduced from 95 to 60 & optionally the Guard Brake should instead of guarantee 3 Souls lead into a Combo-Finisher (otherwise you would have no actual reason to not grab your Opponent)🤔

For me SOHEI is more fun in 1v1 not so much in 4v4s, it makes it more fun if another player is using him, its like who is getting the 95 damage first 😂

As a first impression i think that crazy six fold strike should not be usable in brawls or duels or at least make it so theres a fighting chance because if youre able to get a free bash off of a "heavy parry" which leads to said strike one should be able to dodge the bash from heavy parry Unnless you are able and i just havnt seen it

I feel like that you should be able to dodge that 95 dmg attack after a heavy parry. It's to broken like that right now in my opinion

I haven't been able to play because my xbox broke but. I think it's nice but out of curiosity. Does it take away the red souls if you miss the bash? If so then I think it's unique and balanced. If not I think that's a little op but still cool nonetheless yk?

I’m already rep 1 and while he’s fun he gets clapped in high rank the bash is very reactible and if your opponent can parry lights your cooked. Also getting a gb is near impossible since everyone is waiting for it. Last thing his damage is terrible you have to do so much to get the big damage. Edit I do like the uniqueness but he’s really not that great

If the new hero didn’t have the 95 dmg impale he would be one of the worst characters released. Not being able to chain lights and heavies together is an awful choice. The heavies are terribly slow and lacking hyper armour is insane. People talk about nobu needing a rework because of how predictable she is, sohei is sitting right next to her imo.

I mean if an attack can deal 95 damage I don’t see a reason why they took shugokis critical hug away

Iv never been more conflicted on a hero, i love the uniqueness i love his moveset and stuff, but it feels like with how alot of characters play that hes useless with the lack of hyper armour on at least his start up heavy. Not too mention how hes gonna make alot of people rewire their brains with his lack of heavy into light/light into heavy. I want to play him and be goid with him but with everyone lighting, zoning or even heavying me out of anything just feels tough and tbh kinda wish that they'd lower the damage of the big bash and increase his damage else where because playing a heavy while I feel like iv hit them about 10 times and they are even half health is kinda weird
