They poured it into a wooden mold believe it or not...which is why it instantly caught fire. This will of course ruin the purity of the silver...but they never bothered refining it anyway. I want to go back and see if they at least stamped them as sterling silver.

He doesn't. This is NOT refining. This is just melting, and wasting time and money. Now these bars are harder to refine. Refining is much easier when the metals have lots of surface area.
Fast Forward 2 Months - I kid you not, I've literally JUST FINISHED melting some silver into bars, and I wore friggin' flip-flops the whole time! LOL. I've gotten comfortable with the process, and apparently over the span of two short months I've completely relaxed about "safety" during said process lol... Just figured I owed this update, as I couldn't believe it myself a moment ago either...
@@stirfry4751 I do with silver because you sometimes have to inquart silver into gold for a better gold extraction. See : inquarting silver for more info
Like I said, they make shoes designed to withstand molten metal long enough for you to take them off. Taking them off is easy because they are designed to be kicked off in a second or two.
Get the sterling refined first next time. If you ever sell those, you'll lose money as someone's just gonna have to dissolve those to get the pure silver out
Every time I see people using these furnaces without applying rigidizer to the blanket, I cringe. You’re breathing in the fibers from that every time you melt. You’re ten years away from lung cancer. Wear a damn respirator at least. And get som rigidizer.
Hammerschlägen M I've never listened to JB. Don't get so uptight if someone has an opinion...I like the Doors, CCR..lots of classics,...just not this song. Yes, the doors are capable up putting out a crap-song.
