I actually like how the audience is just standing in awe. If this was my first melvins experience my brain would explode.

I'm Norwegian myself and I totally agree that the concert culture here is dull, especially during festivals, where genuine fans tend to be in the minority. Compare this behaviorally conformist, hip modern festival crowd to, say, the Salad of a thousand delights live footage from the early 90's, it's like comparing night and day. Maybe it has something to do with a generation gap in addition to cultural differences, and a difference between intimate gigs and stadium festivals as well.

I think the crowd was there to see ABBA!

I've watched the cuts of A History of Bad Men and Civilized Worm from this concert so many times, never saw the whole thing though. So awesome. I love that Dale sneaks in Pressed Rat and Warthog lyrics in Sky Pup. Awesome.

Dale Crover IS still the only person who is capable of playing this stuff Cuz nobody else understands Buzz the way he interprets his own style. I’m guessing if Neil Peart were still with Us? Umm 🤔 Maybe. Lombardo did do Fantomas with him and Mike Patton, but there’s something about the MELVINS that isn’t written in any musical manual I know of. And this is why I’ve been following this band since I’ve heard their Lysol 💿 So for 33 years now and after 28 x’s seeing their show live I can honestly say that this IS the heaviest act I’ve ever had the pleasure of witnessing at 56 years old since Black Flag in attitude & Sabbath as far as how punishing their delivery is. Nirvana borrowed a few tricks ya bet your arse on that one ☝️! Dave Grohl’s nowhere near the same ballpark when it comes to things he’s doing on his 🥁 s and doesn’t even understand the unorthodox way he has complete control over his set up; nary taking a breath until Buzz slows it down for a few milliseconds! They’ve been in before anybody ever was. And as the other guys are trying to figure out just what they’re doing? Too late, they’ve already moved onto a brand new style nothing the likes of what anyone has ever seen; let alone catching up to them!
