Brian. We were opening for the COWS 🐄 back on their “Sexy Pee Story” tour along with the MELVINS at this now defunct club/ Indian restaurant called Middle East back in’93 and the entire band welcomed me over and we’d got along so well Kevin told me anytime his band had a show I’m automatically on the guest list! It’d turn out he too had been from MN. Okay? I’ve got cousins out that way so I spent the early morning hrs just drinking and shooting the shite with three of them and from there up until when they called it quits (‘98) he kept in touch every time they came to town. They loved Us as well for our musical style which is kinda like Black Sabbath; Flag meets Captain Beefheart/ BOC lol; Cuz there weren’t as many acts playing that sloow heavy sludgy stuff except for maybe COC; but not really til Pepper joined them in’90 and EyeHateGod just released its debut 💿 We toured with both them and Dr. Know on the W. Coast and my bff/vox. John McCarthy was asked to sing for them by Reed Mullin RIP 🪦 beforehand as they were getting rid of Simon Bob due to his being a bit of a dickhead and he was also in Ugly Americans and saw COC as just a side gig for the time. So the only reason McCarthy didn’t get the job was because he couldn’t get the lousy $44 to get to Raleigh, N.C! I shit you not man, that’s a true story! 🤬 I felt bad for him missing an opportunity like that one ☝️ but if he’d of made it down there? I never would’ve had some of the best friends in my life; not to mention the hardest working guys in the business. He died in’09 at the age of just 40 yrs old. 2.5 yrs later our friend Seth would join him + last Fall Larry Lifeless took his final breath 🗣 💨 Lucky for me, I quit 🍺 in’08. Kev had cleaned up his act or Buzz would’ve never taken him. This I know for certain. So if you’re interested check out our albums starting with Coroner’s Office; Festival Of Fun; Destined For Failure ( yeah I know, critics had a ball with their reviews etc.) Seriously nice rappin’ w/you and I too agree with early 00’s were the best yrs for the band!
