Member's Mark 12-sheet Micro-Cut Shredder problem SOLVE 

My Insignia just started the vrt vrt vrt paper feed so I took to google and found you! Once I got past the aggravation of getting the screws out, it was a breeze following your instructions. Putting the screws back was even more fun but to my amazement she's purring like a kitty now. Thank you for this most helpful instructional video!!!

I fixed mine by disassembling the little squirrel cage blower and oiling the bushings at either end of the blower motor. I theorize that these get gummed up with paper dust over time, increasing the current drawn by that little motor, until it trips some sort of self-resetting polyfuse on the control board (thus the cycling on and off, as the control board drops out and restarts).

I have the EXACT same unit. I Did as he instructed in the video and it NOW WORKS PERFECTLY !!! THANK YOU THANK YOU. I did have to buy a longer screw driver. I bought a 12 inch screw driver.

Sure enough this fixed it, so thanks so much for this. Of possible interest is that my shredder may be a later model and has a different configuration, including two red/black wire pairs, so I had to trace one of the pairs (unsurprisingly the pair the thinner wires) to the fan on the end of the motor to know which wires to pull. Also, I wonder how much continuous usage it takes to burn out the motor now that there's no longer a fan to cool it.

On short notice, I couldn't get a 5 inch Phillips screwdriver for the last two screws (the deepest two). I carefully pulled back the cover and just cut the red/black wires. It works. THANK YOU!

Oh my goodness I can't believe someone else is experiencing the same horrific issue. Called Sam's and wouldn't replace it because it was past the warranty date. I was pissed to the brim. I paid $54 for it and this crazy thing won't work. But I'm going to try what you did to see if this will work. Thank you

i found a better way to fix it.......thats simple as.... well simple.....its worked for me twice for some reason when its fixed and then get unpluged or for what ever reason lose power like from a power outage..it goes back to not working..it may also stop working again if you turn it off from the back i have not tested it..with it turn on from the back ...on the top power on button.. push and hold it and let it do that stop go stop go until it stops doing it and keeps on running....this 2nd i did it it took about 2mins of holding the button down ..good luck all

I turned the back power switch on, off, on, off about three times while I had a sheet of paper inside and BINGO it started working again. It messed up after a power outage... I guess your method is the most extreme but if you still have warranty don't want to take the machine apart as it will void the warranty.

I was having the same issue. Thank you for posting this video. It fixed it. Any idea what that is? Maybe it's a load sensor that has failed? Seems to connect to a second small motor in the back of the big motor. 🤷

I used you idea and it worked great, but that has to be a sensor that should be protecting things. What sensor is it and can it be replaced as there are no schematics and don’t know who really made this shredder.
