One of the reasons is because of lobbying which will cause politicians to enact policy that benefits the donors not the people and plus we can’t vote for the Supreme Court and they have life terms despite them determining our policy in some ways. Just because we get to vote for the same two parties that have been in power for 90% of the countries existence doesn’t mean we are a democracy lol.

Ukraine will never join NATO. It sucks to be Ukraine but in the real world small countries neighboring big and stronger countries don't decide their own fate, it's unfair but it's what it is, even those across the ocean, just ask the US.
Dude, some countries are not close to the US, and get that treatment every single day. The US always has an excuse to bomb others, either if it is their own "safety" (like someone is going to attack the US), an ally, or even if they kill some flowers.
NATO does not "extend invitations" to join, they accept applications from countries that wish to join. One of the conditions is that there must be no border disputes or current conflict in that country. While there is no doubt that Ukraine will join in the future, that time is not now.

They got those guarantees in 1994 with the Budapest memorandum when they agreed to hand their nukes to Russia, and we can see now those guarantees are of no value. When this war is over they will be brought into NATO if they wish.
