Amazing! I’m very excited to see how this ties into NanoELS, keep us posted as to how we can buy one. I think the innovation here is awesome. You’ve really opened up a door to make a lot of people’s projects possible.
How cool is that! I need a front foil too but without any electronics. Do you mean, they will make the foil alone as well? The result looks extremely good for me! Thanks for sharing :)
Hi Mx, was looking for some membranes keypad. Saw your video. :) cool em. Do you think the cost is too much for the sample? I thought of using FR4 for the back and with printed copper track and overlay with the PVC graphics. As for the embossed key I was thinking using 3D printed mold to press on it. As for dome, should be able to get it from DigiKey or Mouser. What you think? Thx
Jason, I moved away from membrane keypads for my projects due to cost, reliability, EMI, ESD and the need for an FFP terminal. With graphics overlays I have none of those problems, production run of 75 overlays costs less than a sample of 5 keypads and I control the designs end to end. You can surely do some prototyping as you described for low cost but it might not change the big picture.
@@MaximKachurovskiy yeah em. I think is too crazy to pay for all these dirty cheap membranes keypad. Unless we are like Apple, Orange and other. Good to know you have enlighten and free your mind. Good lucks to your finding l. Take care and cheers.
Still to expensive for small run. you paid 300 for 5? Ouch. Why not use other method for small production? For example cnc cut from plastic sheet and add buttons manually?
