I love your videos so much! I'm sure that you want to focus on membrane transport but that is dependent on the lipid bilayer which is why you need transport in the first place (as it is semipermeable bilayer with a polar head and lipid tails). This bilayer creates the semipermeability that allows some things to go through without support, simple diffusion of fats down their concentration gradient without a channel, while preventing other things (polar ions) from going through at all without the support from a protein carrier or channel (facilitated) down its concentration gradient (diffusion). This way students understand that a polar molecule/ion (anything with a charge/partial charge) needs a carrier/channel while anything that does not have a charge (non-polar) or gases can go through without a channel. My apologies if this is described in a prerequisite video!
