Re: doing something else. Summer etc. I agree. My K child (now 2nd grade) was eager but hit some walls. By stepping back and not pushing to finish on a grade timelinr, you'd never know she got angry at times. Her reading comes a bit natural now with maturity and sticking to what she knew to keep reading a joyful thing.
Yea, that's exactly what happened with us, the reading got really intense really fast and he wasn't ready for it. But like you we scanned way back and just took our time, now he is much better.
Thank you so much for this flip through. We just got back from GHC and we want this curriculum for our daughter! Please keep posting videos and sharing your opinion. It is really helpful.
Thanks for walking me through this!! Just what I was looking for! I love all the literature used to supplement the curriculum. How do you get your hands on all the books they suggest?? Also, I love that you colored the flash cards. That was my largest complaint about the curriculum- seemed to be a little less colorful and pretty than some other curriculums. Problem solved 😁
Thanks for the flip through. Would you say every component is essential? Are there thing (like the animal coloring book) that could be skipped or substituted?
For us he children's book of poems didn't last long and we sometimes slacked on handwriting. Memory work could be skipped if you don't need that to be an essential part of your curriculum.
I really am not sure what it is for. It came in the box and I have just never found a practical use for it, but I would assume you could use it for anything you needed.
In second grade, the composition book is used during enrichment time. They’re usually told to write the most important thing about the read aloud and draw a picture.
Unfortunately, we spent too long every day for the age/maturity of my son. As we went through the year and the material was becoming more advanced, we were clocking in about 45 min- 1 hr for his entire language arts lesson
@@thetransparenthomeschool I hear that!!!! I'm binge watching your videos now. I was supposed to be shopping at a homeschool convention, but didn't go due to the Coronavirus :( I've spent the day watching videos and trying to decide on first grade curriculum for next year.
