Never rinse your macaroni before making a salad....you rinse off the starch that holds the dressing. You make it cold with a refrigerator...not rinsing with cold water

You should rinse it in cold water… why? because it takes out any excess salt during the cooking process. Just set aside pasta water and add a little bit along with the dressing. No buts!

Exactly. If you rinse the starch off, the dressing will not adhere to the macaroni.

The part of Martha was played with gusto and verve and Steve had a delightful cameo role. It was a puckish satire of contemporary mores, a droll spoof aimed more at the heart than the head. As for me I'm planning on spending the next three days in a brothel.

DON'T RINSE YOUR PASTA! In order for the dressing to stick, you need a layer of starch covering the pasta. Rinsing the pasta removes the starch, so all you'll get is a cold macaroni soup.

Don't know whether this was before or after her incarceration, but the jail-bird has a huge input from all her public and she uses those hints and recipes a lot to bring successful ideas to you! So her public deserves a lot of credit!

If she doesn't like cucumber seeds, then why not use an english cucumber? Possibly because I am Canadian, but my macaroni salad always has chopped green and yellow peppers, chopped celery, finely chopped green onions and parsley. Occasionally I also add tuna so it's a meal and not a side dish.

Just look for Macaroni Salad Chef John. You'll find it. Chef John' is the Bomb !!!!......... Although I did add a little chopped up (seeded) cucumber since I had one on hand....and I just put a few tablespoons so my 4 yr. old won't freak. Trying to "sneak" more veggies in her food.

Chef John's macaroni salad is the gold standard. I made it for Thanksgiving dinner yesterday and everyone loved it. The recipe is a far cry from the soupy sweet macaroni salad from grocery stores. There's a video for the salad here on RU-vid, and a link to the print recipe in the dropdown under the video. You need both in order to do this dish right. It has a definite game plan. Follow the recipe exactly, as there's a reason for every ingredient and procedure in it.

Evidently she invited them to cook with her why would you put this nice couple and category People Are People we're all human we are all people at the end of the day and they seem like a nice humble couple and I wouldn't say they are middle-class who knows what type of people they are they know Martha Stewart and Martha Stewart probably met a lot of humble people in prison

Desmond McHugh Jesus Christ was poor. He was born in someone's barn. And, Martha grew up very middle class. She talks about it all the time in other vids. She hangs with Snoop Dog for heaven's sake...and if you think she thinks poorly of him because of where he was born and raised you are wrong...they are super thick. cucumber in macaroni salad? idk ? sounds like a bad idea I put mayo, mustard, vinegar, salt and pepper, green pablano peppers, red sweet peppers, diced cherry tomatoes, hard boiled eggs, tuna fish,and sometimes pickles and it always comes out great.

That's great if that's how you like yours, but I have to say I have never seen anyone make it your way....cucmbers in it is very refreshing......I've never heard of using green pablano peppers in a classic mac salad
