@@KcClips Hare Krsna! I am very much in line with Aindra's views on Iskcon and unqualified gurus, and nama-sankirtan. I have couple of arguments here on the rtvik thing. Here a guy tells that Prabhupada said that just by reading his books, we are initiated by him: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-awW2kRZr7Lc.html Also, that July 9th letter from before, have you read it? It’s pretty incontrovertible. C.C. Madhya 15.108. In this verse it is stated that initiation is not necessary (for liberation). One simply has to chant. I do worship Prabhupada with all my heart, but hey, it is stated right there, on verse 108 :D. Also, the conclusion of the purport aims at the same thing. Diksa is a process. Sure, real sadhu-sanga is important. If I hadn’t heard Aindra’s views on these things, where would I be? But the main process is chanting, and it has the potency to deliver a person on it’s own. Of course, it may only be the suddha-nama which has such potency, and not the less potent ones, although they will purify one to platform of suddha-nama, if you are genuine that is, and not a disciple of kali-yuga! Also, this development depends on the direction of a bona-fide spiritual master. But as I quoted before, that by reading his books, don’t we get directed from that? Aindra also says in one talk, I think it is the 1997 vyasapuja, that Prabhupada is not limited to the words written on a book. You may have heard how, from the memories of Aindra I think, Aindra got so many revelations from Prabhupada through his dreams. One devotee, in the memories of Prabhupada, also told how Prabhupada had said to her, or him, don’t remember, that when I’m not here, you have to listen to others because I will instruct you through them. I, who have never met Prabhupada, also had one dream in the beginning of my Krsna consciousness. Not much happened, but when I woke up from the dream, I was softly crying for 40 minutes for no reason. I personally also took it as a sign, because the previous day, (in my neophyteness) I had been feeling I was doing well and practiced seriously in general, for about 6 months, but wasn’t getting much reciprocation. Thus, you know, I got encouraged. My crying also kind of resembled that which devotees in the Following Prabhupada DVD’s described, one of which described how she just cried throughout her entire initiation ceremony, and she just couldn’t stop. So in conclusion. Aindra, in the link you send, (at least the first 10 min) didn’t say a word about ritviks. He stressed elevated sadhu-sanga, and yes, association with a bona-fide Guru, but I’d say the above mentioned things, reading the books, qualify for this. That is the direction required. Also, you hear what you wanna hear, you read what you wanna read. The reciprocation depends, as he (in a sense, if I twist the words and relation a little) says in the clip, upon sincerity and definiteness of purpose. In a strict sense, Aindra hadn’t been initiated the first week he joined Krsna consciousness, yet he had 2 very profound dreams, and I’m sure they affected him for the rest of his life. So does that mean his spiritual life didn’t begin because he hadn’t taken a fire sacrife? And, in fact, the only knowledge he had of Prabhupada was through his books. He had been reading his Bhagavad Gita.
