Excellent job on the history of the area. My wife and I grew up in Pomona and drove thru all of that area when young. Gave her an engagement ring at the Magic Lamp Inn in 1962. Married in 1963 and we moved to Oregon in 1966 where we live today. We visit every year and still eat at the Magic Lamp, Vince's Ontario, The Deli and Tony's Beef Dips in Pomona. Lot's of good memories of those places and more that are now gone.
We moved when I was 7, ended up in South Central, moved to Texas in 1996.... 😢 Brings back my fondest memories in that town.... I am going to move there with my family soon!
Thank you...I grew up there myself. Lived there from 1978 to 2008. I went to Alta Loma Jr. High and High School. Lived right on Hellman and Lemon avenue...Great place to grow up..Just makes me cry watching this video...I miss it and when I'm in the area I still pass my old house. We sold the one on Lemon and moved to a bigger house right on Wilson by Chaffey College then my parents sold that in 2008 and they retired and moved to Beaumont. I live now in L.A..and I just hate it...I'm really fully desired to move back in 2019. I graduated in 1984. I remember going to Roller City and I attended with my parents church at the old stone methodist church on Archibald. So many great memories... Send me a message back so we can chat more and maybe exchange emails and get to know one another. We might know each other, you never know...Neighbor. Talk to you soon.
Oh, one more thing, you forgot one most memorable thing unless it was knocked down before you took these shots/videos, the drive up mini-market on Archibald just below the stone church across the street from the elementary school...
