I assume black blood is actually human blood. the stuff our body produces like adrenaline and other things are considered poison and very addictive if processed properly. The human liver is very efficient at turning chemical toxins into other toxins that are either more or less lethal depending on the toxin used.

Yeah, this is what I have been thinking. But it could be diluted or the makers are trying to copy it and are failing in someway.
