Maltese street food is tasty, convenient, and is great for a quick snack on the go, or for lunch break from work. Mostly carb heavy, it is not the healthiest choice, but unlike other fast food joints, these street delights are homemade daily, and delivered to outlets fresh, and is never cooked from frozen. When they run out, they run out.
The many small walk up windows, booths, kiosks and pastizzerias around the island selling street food also play an integral part of the Maltese culture, by selling mostly traditional Maltese food so generation after generation will know the cuisine, and more importantly, crave it! It is very hard to say no Haha.
