They never let more than 100.000 in Wembley again. It wasn't really big enough for 126.000. All the quotes that there was 200.000 or 300.000 is stretching things a bit. It's more likely that there was about 140.000/ 150.000. I mean if there was 210.000 in the stadium where did they put them all? At the Recent Hibernian v Rangers Cup Final at Hampden 10.000 Hibernian fans invaded the pitch. They took up an entire half of the pitch including the huge space behind the goal. It looked like there were more but since there were only 25.000 Hibs fans at the game and at least half of them stayed in the stands it shows that the Wembley numbers were greatly exaggerated.
I LOVE this film. Hard to imagine 200,000+ fans crammed into the old stadium - great to finally see some images & hear from someone who was actually there. And it sounds like the Wembley Spirit was strong from the start, lifting this boy to the front of the crowd. WEM-BER-LEY!
