Some background information for this piece:
Memories Under the Moon is a piece that I composed based around a particular moment in the Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask. When Link and Tatl come across a carving of herself, Tael and Skull Kid out on Termina Field Tatl recalls how she and her brother met the Skull Kid. This piece represents the memories that Tatl, Tael and Skull Kid shared together. Everything from the lonely and rainy night they meet until the moment Skull Kid loses his sanity to Majora's Mask is represented in this piece.

I think how much practice you put in is more important than how long you've been playing. It took me 8 years to get to where I'm at, but I don't really practice that much, so (if you put the time in) you could be as good as me in much less time. I recommend you find yourself a piano teacher; ideally you want a teacher you get along with well rather than one known for being the best. Also, have some patience; progress will be slow at first, but try to relish in the small victories. Good luck! ^^

I've actually made a bit of progress on my Astral Observatory cover, so it is currently at the top of my list and it's the one I'm working on most at the moment. However, the ordering may change if I make more progress on another cover, so I'm not going to promise that it will be next. I also can't promise that it will be done anytime soon. ^^;

Oh. My. Fucking. GOD. This song had me in a trance this is the best piano version of a loz song that I've ever heard! It actually told the story of how the forest was created and began it's happy and energetic life and than it had the part where ganondorf took the happiness away and brought it to ruin! You. To me this just proves how timeless music is. A cover of a song that I love, based from a soundtrack from a videogame from almost 30 years ago and I feel like I still have emotional attachment to it.

I love how absolutely unique your Zelda arrangements are!!! It is simply beautiful without just being a rehash of the simply sheet music of the song found on the internet. I love hearing your interpretation of the song and truly demonstrating your expertise by weaving so many variations of a theme into a single song. Bravo.

Well, when I wrote this one, I was using a fairly nice keyboard with weighed keys (which I still use for playing, composing and improvising) and I would record it with a mic that I bought a while ago. However, my performance ability is actually not that great, so I would record the song in parts and then put it all together in Audacity. I recently bought a MIDI keyboard though and now I record the input directly into FL Studio. I then edit for mistakes, sound quality and other things from there.

The intro that leads into the Lost Woods theme is an original bit of music. It's not part of another song, I just wrote it for the beginning of this piece. ^^

I think the best tips I can offer is to learn some improv and to try different styles. If you want to write covers that are familiar but still unique, knowing at least a couple of different styles and being able to improvise will allow you to mix songs, ideas and styles at the drop of a hat. Plus, improvising is a ton of fun and you will probably develop your own playing style as you experiment. Also, don't be a perfectionist, since that's what's holding me back from writing more often. xD

Majora's Theme plays in the left hand from 3:27 to 4:21. Here's the original for reference: /watch?v=IQ_BQX88g0k Majora's Theme has a rather small part in the song and the Lost Woods theme plays over top of it during that time, but it's meant as a call back to the reason Tatl's memories aren't so happy in the end: the mask of Majora.

Yes, there are many programs that can do that. However, unless you can play every note perfectly (not even a thirty-second note off) the program is likely to misinterpret note lengths. Also, there are many things that programs like that can't read from your playing. For example: It doesn't know what your dynamics are at any given time, it can't read tempo changes, or tell the difference between a short note and a staccato. Writing good sheets still requires much manual input unfortunately. :/

But as he remembers the good times, other memories surface, memories of a demonic force of unparalleled power...of being the puppet of a deity of the purest evil out to cause harm for nothing more than sadistic amusement. Centuries have passed, and yet a part of Skull Kid has never recovered from Majora's domination...

I first started playing piano about 8 years ago. I only practice a couple of hours a week at most though, so someone who practiced more could probably reach my level of skill in much less time. ^^;

How to learn the first part easily. If you know the beginning of song of healing which goes like B A F B A F B A F. Right? Now do this backwards in a fast exited tempo just like it does in the original version. Now you're on your own...

Basically, I posted the video if you want to see it, but if you want it removed, I'll be happy to oblige! It's for the new Channel Trailers that RU-vid added. This was a really fun composition and great homage to Zelda. I really loved at 3:27 how the eerie undertone comes in and mimics the antagonists themes throughout the series. Now I want to learn Lost Woods on the piano. Well done.

It was good, but I was kind of expecting the actual Majora's theme leitmotif from the game to pop in towards the end. That or combining both Saria's Song with that motif which would have been interesting to hear.

From memory, if you are using an electic piano, there may be a program that "records" what u play and converts it to sheet music for you.

as read on the description this is sequenced on the computer using a DAW wich stands for digital audio work station you can draw the notes on a grid where you can make the daw playe them a piano throught midi ports or you just can make a VST plugin to play it
