It's not all fake. They are beating those drums! Both are real universities (schools) with actors mixed in. All the other universities in the movie were real as well.

What started as a random video of yours being thrown in my time-line and me going "WTF IS THIS!?!?" to now anticipating the next vids and watch almost all your channel weekly. Honestly the best part is youtube randomly recommending these videos for me. All the drum line videos weren't disappointing! Watching the drum line was a nostalgia. Even though the last part 4 was mostly "fancy" movies, you made it funny to watch. Maybe ill pick up learning the drums after some inspiration from this

The Atlanta A&T band is a High school band called Southwest DeKalb with Nick and the other actors mixed in, and Morris Brown is a real college and drum line and not just actors...

I've never drummed before I've never literally even sat down at any drum set in my life except I had this little kind of I don't know if it was a plastic snare or something when I was a little child. But even though I'm not a drummer I absolutely love this channel. I also love the interaction between both of you. And even though you mentioned twice in the video that you were going to let your hair down for that part , I still wasn't expecting it and literally erupted laughing. Like I was saying this channel is good for someone who doesn't even care about drumming very entertaining! It's actually🔥

The blue devils 2004 drum feature with the stick tricks was one I always wanted to learn but at the time could never figure out. You have a gift for learning all this by ear! Haha wish I had your talent. I would have made Pacific Crest the year before I aged out. One of my biggest regrets was not marching DCI before aging out at 21. Watching your videos brings back a TON of nostalgia for me. I am happy to see so many young drummers in the comments asking questions too like why are diddles and what are hertas or egg beaters. I think an intro to rudiments playlist could be cool for people wanting to learn and practice individual rudiments as well! At any rate, keep it up! Absolutely loving this channel!

I still don't know how I got here but these videos are very entertaining and I enjoy you guys learning every bit of this movie. especially when you're like "this seems right just do it" but to memorize all these parts in the movie is great. I actually enjoyed this movie a lot and they should make another one IMO. Keep up the great work. Much appreciated

@@slimsauu389 from her telling me, the musicality and tightness of the line was so much more than the visuals. Everyone had their purpose, on the line. Looking at it, from a movie standpoint, gimme the show I'm in the bleachers for. I can see that, from the stands, and it's awesome. But, from a player perspective... Yeah, I'm gonna need the sheet music from the line with the solo cups. Who wrote that swag down, and what notation did they use? Lol I want THAT. way more interesting. Granted, A&T were high schoolers. If it were a college band doing that, though? Just imagine the difference in convo? I'm ranting. They both did good, but if I put myself on the field, I want to play with the purple guys.

I found this channel being a music producer trying to get better knowledge from drum techniques, but what I found was so much more. I got suggested the drum line audition video and knew this was my type of shit lol. Two friends, breaking down one of my all time favorite movies(also nick cannons best movie but underclassmen is still fire) but making it acceptable to not only drummers but just enthusiasts of the craft and more. Then I started this series and was just amazed at the talent and dedication to this so I applaud both of you for doing this and keep more coming. Also don’t feel afraid to try other styles of videos cause it’s just a nice chemistry y’all got on camera.

I was in the band since 7th grade( I'm from a very small town called Thomasville, Ga, look us up) and when I say I was heavily into this video! I love this movie because of the band content, even though you hit the nail on the head with all the "fake"that was in the movie. kudos to you and your team!!!!

The ironic part is "nick cannon" can't read sheet music. You guys can read sheet music, but there is no sheet music. So really you are doing a "nick cannon" impersonation to the full effect when playing by just hearing and watching. *MIND BLOWN*

To me, this is actually the best one of the 4 parts. Although, it wasn't performed well in the movie, you guys made it work for real. A lot of it may seem gimmicky and requires more choreography than actual drumming chops. However, there are enough technical parts in there that if you actually did witness a whole drumline playing this in sync, I think it would win over judges in a real competition. The whole drum line with bass drums, quads, etc - came together to fill in the basic snare segments creating a rhythmically and visually satisfying performance.

I envy your hair bro, its the kind of hair + beard combo that I've wanted for so long. I only get to recreate that look via character creation in video games lol. Honestly that is talent to be able to play that learning by ear. Knowing the structure of rudiment drumming, you hear the sticking very well. Always loved drum lines, my uncle George Ross was involved bringing the drum line battles to East Field in Glens Falls, NY. My request, some older Madison Scouts, or Blue Devils would be great to watch you play or break down. George is now passed on , he would of enjoyed your channel. You may have done my request in the past, i’ll be sure to look. Thanks for the great vids.
