🎹 Piano Challenge 2024 - 16/40: Memory (Cats) by Andrew Lloyd Webber🎶
Join me on a unique musical journey with my piano cover of "Memory" from the musical Cats. This performance is part of my Piano Challenge 2024, where I aim to cover 40 different pieces, and this is the 16th entry.
For this rendition, I've blended two arrangements: a beginner version by Terzibaschitsch and a more intermediate version by Kölbl/Thurner from the piano piano (vol. 2) book (Hage edition). Transitioning between the keys of G major and C major was a challenge, for which I crafted my own key change transitions to integrate both versions.
The visuals accompanying this performance have been generated with DALLE. While the easier parts in G major are represented by whimsical and graceful cat characters, reflective of the Cats theme, the more complex sections in C major transition to visuals of an older, nostalgic human actress. This duality is intended to capture the essence of memory and transformation echoed in the song.
Unfortunately, my own cats didn't join me this time for this "Cats" performance (they preferred strolling around outside. It would have been fun to have them around, adding to the atmosphere!
Although there are some minor glitches in the video, I am quite happy and proud of both the performance and the overall production. I hope you enjoy this blend of music and visual storytelling as much as I enjoyed creating it. Your feedback and comments are always welcome as they encourage me and help me improve.
