I love listening to your voice as you explain. Your explanation for preparing material was most useful to me. I have been asked to do a memory quilt for an adult who passed recently. Do you have any tips about cutting and arranging mostly t-shirts? Thank you
Thank you Darla, firstly you'll need to get some iron on vilene/interfacing. You can use much bigger squares for adult size clothes. Perhaps a nine and half inch square. It depends really on the size of the t-shirts. Take a look at a couple and If there are any images or words on the t-shirt I'd try to cut squares so that you get most of that in the square. As for arranging them it'll depend on how many 'feature squares you end up with. Try and spread the feature ones with images on evenly through the quilt. Quite often this ends up being one feature in each row. Hope that helps, Joy
I mainly use a medium weight. But if you already have an iron on interfacing try using it. It just needs to stop the fabrics from stretching out of shape as you stitch them together.
