It would be physically impossible for Near to win. In order to have switched the notebook with a copy he would have had 1 night to copy over 27 THOUSAND NAMES. And thats just the ones Mikami wrote
@@ShadedTurtle very true. And if I'm correct, the writer initially ended the story after L's death, but the studio insisted and wanted more content to make more episodes. So the writer continued. That's why I think that since both the writer and studio rushed to the end, it ended up losing a bit of coherence. Edit: I still liked it, though.
Fr light death affect me so much that i literally had no idea why i am alive and i had lost the purpose of life it was so sad i literally wanted light to win this is so nostalagic and this was the first time i cried over a character death and now also when i see light death edit i still lost my spirit of living he literally id the best character of all time

I don't like the ending of this anime/manga series, it's not because light dies at the end, it is because: - 1. He becomes evil at the end and eliminates everyone who comes in his path, like the news reporter, mello, and everyone else 2. At the end, he was unable to except his defeat, instead he shouts and cries like a cowherd also he tries to runaway from his fate
