Kobu, an old turtle lady, runs a memory rental store on her fishing boat. When a young hedgehog boy sneaks into her store it leads to a series of unexpected event that forces Kobu to come to terms with her past.

What a unique concept for memories, especially with the subtle loss of glowing when a fish has been used, how the fish looked saddened and defeated. Only for them to glow brightly and warmly when they're freed at the end. So creative!

Something that i didn't see people talked about was the amazing colours choice!!! How the memories was either faded or brighter because studies said that when you are a kid,you see the world much more brighter and colourful than an adult and that connecting with the fact that memories wore out over time is just awesome!!!

I like the style of animation, which is similar to the drawings of children’s books with watercolors. I liked the narration of the story and the concept of the fish’s memory. The idea presented by the film is very innovative. Let us not forget the sounds and their suitability to the characters. Thank you Gobelins Paris for this unique masterpiece of its kind.❤❤

Great! Also, the dog was sitting on a mountain of gold, but they went after him like he was just sitting on rubble. Goes to show how much valuable the memory and the missing dog was to them... Sooo cuuute!!! Loved it.

There was some real room for this animation to be dark and creepy (especially with the thumbnail and the concept of putting live goldfish into your head), but I’m honestly kind of glad it wasn’t.

Très beau court-métrage animé ! Parfois, il faut laisser le temps faire son travail, laisser partir les gens et les souvenirs, car cela peut provoquer en nous l’impossibilité de vivre le présent avec ceux qui comptent encore sur nous.

That was Amazing. Truly. One of the rare animations that got me to cry my eyes out. Stunningly beautiful and deep. Would there be any way to see the character sheets of the young cutie by any chance, by the way? I love his/her design sooo much!! I loved this so much it was so fun to watch. I love the character designs and the concept of memory rentals is really cool. Its a shame the kid went through all that just for him to dispose of the memory though.
