I loved The Hollow, but I'm glad they went in a different direction. Do I like this better? Probably not. But, I'd much rather have this then more of the same old stuff. Can't I like both?

I dig this a lot. Such a banger for a quick track. I kind of wish it was longer so I didn't have to hit play again but at the same time I really do appreciate why it's so short - it's not really a story like many songs as much as it is just explaining a certain *something* that many of us have in our lives and how it makes us feel inside. Best of luck dealing with whatever life is throwing at you...

Man, I know this is different than their old stuff, but I can dig it. Mullins has a pop-streak to him and it is just starting to come out more in his MMF records. I don't mind it, because there are probably 50 screamo/hardcore bands that all sound exactly the same right now, so why would MMF just keep doing the same thing and sound just like the others? It's innovate or die and I like the creativity to be honest.

Aaron Fenstemaker depends how you look at it, if you look at the scene everyone is doing exactly the same thing, getting softer, more accessible sound, so many bands sound exactly the same and have this sound like MMF. You can see as innovation for the band specifically or just confirming to what every other band is doing. I personally liked TLIH but didn’t get into this record but I hope it does well for them as they’ve made lots of songs in the past that I can enjoy

I disagree. MMF is a very unique sounding metalcore-ish band. Very catchy songs with great lyrics, that both make you bang your head and sing along. If you really think about it, there are only a few bands out there right now with similar traits. They are going the way of a lot of these screamo bands. IE Asking Alexandria, Crown The Empire, Bullet For My Valentine, etc. Where they try and go mainstream, and they overdo it. They go too far away from what made them popular. It's one thing to experiment and push the boundaries musically, but another thing entirely to change the sound of your band completely. MMF hasn't done that yet, thank goodness. This album is pushing up against that wall though. I don't want to see it go any further, or they'll firmly push themselves into that category of forgotten has-been metal bands. I think we're coming to the end of an era of this genre. The poppy, djenti drum/guitar riffs with appetizing vocals, filled lyrically with passion and aggression. We've walked that line since the mid 2000's and I think we're witnessing bands tear themselves apart trying to break into the mainstream. It's frustrating.

I honestly think Rise is behind all the radio rock. I still like Memphis regardless and I support this album but I’d be lying if I said I prefer this over their former sound.

Some bands and pull off switching ti hard rock and they do it very nicely, I live all their albums but this one is not bad and not a bad change for them, people will complain, I get it, for me i always preferred this band to be more like this

I love their new sound, yes i love their screams and stuff, but damn, they are allowed to change their sound and not have people hate it. I will be listening to this album alot because i love it. I understand some people like heavier music, but these guys are getting up in age. Maybe screaming is starting to hurt Matty's voice. You never know. Let them be. Enjoy their new sound or leave

If you think the screaming is starting to hurt his voice then you don't understand how uncleans work. This new album is shit not because it's not heavy, but because it's generic and less technical on lyrics, sound & instruments. They have become a sell out generic butt rock radio band. I can literally send you 10 unsigned bands that sound like this, and they made their songs way before MMF changed. If you like it that's fine, but don't make excuses for them or treat others like they are wrong. So many bands on this label that has become soft over time and still sound great & unique. MMF didn't even try to be unique.
