Many Thanks For Posting This Concert Of His! -- Memphis Slim was my cousin and I had the honor of touring with him as a child and then again in the early 70s in France while I was stationed in Germany. When I got stationed in Sicily in 80s I made plans to visit him in Paris again; but he died of complications from pneumonia while I was on a mission and found out about when I returned. I really miss him!
I saw him at the battersea arts centre in London ,,and after the show he signed his name for me on a cigarette packet and the S in slim he signed as a dollar sign ,,he also performed with just a drummer and it was brilliant ,I'm glad I was able to see a lot of these old blues guys before they got to old
Shamefully unsung. Love Buddy Guy, but he’s not as good as $lim in concert-no theatrics, no walking around the seats like Buddy...just pure vein tingling Blues. Slicker than a Texan oil spill.
