Dimas was -5 from Asanidze and -2.5 from Huster when clean n’ jerk started. He had to tie them because he weighed less. When Asanidze lifts 210 Dimas knows he needs 215 for gold. Huster lifts 212.5 and still Dimas knows he needs 215. The big mistake was made by Asanidze not going for 212.5. Huge mistake. When he lost his 1st attempt for 215, in my opinion it was all over. Dimas had his chance and he wouldn’t let it go away. One of the best lifts ever...
They drifted by the great tactician and mindgamer greek coach Iakovou. Look up at the 94kg category of 2000, where Kakhiashvili won despite he was injured and almost withdrawn.
@@xontreras4 But if they thought 212.5 would be too much, they should have started at 205 and then moved up to 210, with the option of 212.5 for the third if needed. (And indeed 212.5 would have won it for him.)
SourGrapes yeah I know right, he already had lifted 215kg and he almost sat down when he jerked it so imagine how it would have been for him lifting those 218.5kg
He’s done up to 225kg in training I got the chance to talk to one of his training partners on Facebook and said he witness Dimas to a 225kg in training clean and jerk and a 184kg snatch with straps on. At training bw of 86kg which is Insane to think about
