When I was 18 years old (30 today) I was fat and I had been sick for a month and lost a lot weight because I didn't eat for most of the month. A girl in my class asked me out because she thought I looked good and she assumed I had dieted and trained to loose the weight. That comment and her asking me out made me start training and eating properly because no one had ever shown any interest in me in my life up to that point.
When my dad was alive I never bought him flowers because I got him things he actually wanted like tickets to a game or having him and my mom go to a favourite restaurant. He'd have been worried the cats will eat the flowers lol. I miss him.

I never realized how touch starved I was until I met my wife. I was very sexually promiscuous in my youth, which I now realize was because of that. I never received positive physical affection except for when I was providing something in return. Shortly after I moved in with my wife, I had had a rough day and came in and sat down in my chair. My wife could tell I needed something and she came up, wrapped her arms around my head and held me against her chest. It was the first time since puberty that someone had simply held me because I needed it. I felt so much relief over the sensation that I started crying from that alone. That one event changed my outlook on so many things in life.
What's weird is you can feel the love fall off. Women other than your mom are so caring for you until right around 13, 14, 15. It just declines year after year until no one gives you any love unless you earn it from them. Some men never "earn it". Breaks my heart every time I think about it, dudes with mediocre genes and upbringings never loved past the age of 14.

I had a female co worker who hugged me goodbye when it was her last day working there. It was the first time I’ve been hugged by a woman who wasn’t my mother for years. I wasn’t even expecting it and to top it all off, I also had a crush on her without her realizing it. I still remember it to this day.
This is why i compliment and hug my husband all the time. My job is to make him know he's wanted and loved and i feel lucky to have him. I feel like most women dont understand how badly men need that validation.

I met my husband when I was 17 and he was 22, I was always a cuddly person and love affection. When we started dating I couldn’t understand why he was so happy and excited about complements, hugs and holding hands, I thought that was all just small gestures, until I found out that he never had really done those things with other girls and didn’t get much physical affection from his parents growing up. I was one of the first people in his life to show him physical affection and tell him just how beautiful, smart and witty he is. Now we are getting married and having our first child together, he look after me so well, I am his queen and get pampered beyond belief. Men need love ladies, to give a compliment is cheap but it’s worth so much to receive.

Doc came in did her thing, and towards the end she checked my lymph nodes without saying anything whilst not wearing gloves ... An attractive coworker tickled me 2 years ago and I still think about how great she made me feel for a whole week. I was in a very dark period of my life with severe depression, and she lifted that cloud for a solid week by doing something she probably forgot about 5 minutes later. I had girlfriends and was sexually active in highschool, but after highschool I moved out, life happened and I lost most of my family. It hit me hard and I completely changed as a person. I use to be a driven, normal kid, but afterwards I turned into a severely depressed, anxious mess that drives away others. Being touch starved is a real thing for sure. Might seem pathetic, and to be honest it kind of is, but some of us are just kind of socially retarded and struggle to make connections.
