Full video of the keynote lecture by Professor Claire Duncanson (University of Edinburgh) at the International Workshop Men in Movement: Trans/forming Masculinities in Politics, Care, and Media (Barcelona, 18-20 November, 2015). In her talk, Professor Duncanson analyses how to theorize the change in gender relations based on the gaps in the concept of "hegemonic masculinity” (Connell and Messerschmidt 2005, p. 853). She does so by focusing on empirical material on military masculinities, drawing on both her own research and existing literature.

Very interesting point, I feel so glad of this view of not to focus in the men ways but in relational traits, as a a man in the middle of this hybrid model expectations attack and as a father of boys this argue gives me light in my own masculinity construction based on empathy

Foucault, who is much to blame for all this nonsense, once suggested the creation of courses titled: - Dialectical Materialism and the Nutrition of Pigs and - Coffee Shops and the Class Struggle This is mental diarrhea. A waste of time and money.

@radulescu valentin I think this man's constitutionally protected free speech was poorly delivered. I agree with his premise that the thoughts and conclusions of this woman are more in line with those that would be reached by someone with a chemical imbalance than they are by someone with a more unhindered ability to reason...BUT...I disagree with his flippancy and insensitivity about it. That being sad...I found your comment to be worse than his. You characterize him as a terrorist. His comment was insensitive, yes, but he didn't make a categorical fallacy like you did. "Terrorists" on the simplest, most basic, definitive level, use fear to force change. While Derek's comment was designed to demean either the speaker or the uploader of the video, it isn't the same as threatening their safety in order to get them to remove their video. If his comment was "terrorist" in nature...can you help me understand some of Amy Schumer's cooments? For example: The 2011 TV special aired just months after Jackass star Ryan Dunn died in a car crash. During the roast, Schumer used his death to take a jab at his longtime friend, Steve-O. “I’m sorry for the loss of your friend,” she said. “I know you were thinking, ‘It could have been me,’ and I know we were all thinking ‘Why wasn’t it?’" She used her constitutionally protected speech to say something truly horrendous. Would you consider her a terrorist? I guess I am just curious....

As a man, I don't really care if your'e a man or not. But, I don't think you understand the application this has to the real world. You are clearly not the academic audience she is talking to.
