LETSS GOOOOOOOOOOO, DUDE I JUST GRADUATED COLLEGE AND BOY OH BUDDY, IT'S GOOD TO SEE YOU ONCE AGAIN! Also had no clue about the diffirence between RTT and RTS, and I've been an RTS fan for years! Beautiful review dude, excited to watch it!
honestly i almost forgot about MoW and seeing it comeback with this much content makes me very happy, i really like that research points things when the first things researched all points become your own free research points above thats a cool one
Really fun game. Enjoying it so far. Lots of quality life improvements like your units being able to shoot while running and not requiring micro inside buildings.
I gave it a shot and the UI compared to past games was somewhat frustrating. Over 500 hours on Goh and 300 on MoWAS2,, and the combat was somewhat underwhelming even compared to the older game where more defined squad management could be really useful, unit control is lackluster at best, with first person being really nice in GoH for accuracy when needed. Campaigns are somewhat unbalanced to hell, its near impossible to even get pass the 4th russian mission as snipers were nailing my mission critical units from so far away and you get like no supplies for fighting entrenched units with a limited number of soldiers, even on the easiest difficulty. the multiplayer was not really any better as people kept leaving or the servers were having issues. (yes i know people are bitching about vehicles having health but its always been a thing and is a literal irl thing kinda, you shoot a tank enough or with enough force the armors gonna shatter, there are factual case studies of this.) Overall i think what while the graphics are a upgrade from Assault squad 2, the gameplay is a overall downgrade and needs some serious work. I ended up refunding it. May get it later after many updates but right now its not that enjoyable
Waiting for a offline LAN option because as an always online game with so many always online games loosing support in time and leaving players out of the games I just can't trust gaming companies anymore
i like what GoH has to offer from what i've played in the past but it not having matchmaking kinda ruined it for me tbh. Plus those lobbies and ping spikes mid game have been a deal breaker
@@2SK3TCHY yeah makes sense. They just improved the base game, it's how men of war was and all these games are just built upon the old. The positive side is you can always play modded this way and there will always be people playing. There are no server costs so you don't need to work about them shutting down due to no funding.
@@Rogue_Tiger yea seems like the majority play modded, even now with MoW2 some raised their concerns about there being no mods. Obviously cause game just came out, but this makes GoH more appealing, for now at least.
I never played any of the other games so I don’t care how it compares with the others. I don’t care it is always online. What I want is the conquest mode. I play alone so any of the multiplayer stuff I don’t care about either.
I love GoH and was sure MoW 2 will just not be for me. But here we are - Im hooked as fuck and really like it. I got key for free thou - otherwise I wouldnt buy it I have to be honest.
ahmmm my thought it.... men of war 2 i hope you can switch the gameplay mode on a RTT,RTS,AND RPG, and you can always fix your map on the right position.... like coh 3
@@2SK3TCHY oh it will help. I was wondering why missions 3 and 4 were so freaking hard with just infantry and a couple small mortors. Germans were tearing me up with all their mortors placed around the map.
This game is ok, however i don't see a reason to get it when GoH it's better in every way. They need to at least add something different, for example a game mode like the Blitzkrieg 3 pvp conquest.
Honestly can't see how you can support this if you've played the previous installments, especially with the ludicrous price tag. It's almost the exact same game as all the ones this publisher has released in the last 20 years. Could you perhaps expand on how a 50€ price tag is justified when you can get mowas 2 for 3€ and you have tons more content and a ton of mods? Just seems weird.
imo, i like what mow2 has to offer for the price, can it be cheaper? sure. not sure if "you have tons more content" compared to older titles is valid, when raid mode alone can be played an infinite amount, this already excludes all the voiced story campaigns and both conquest/historical campaigns. Tech tree also provides an alternate way to play, vs what was provided in previous iterations. while not "next-gen" or anything like that, there are comparison videos around, and when looking at the fidelity, or graphics there are improvements. Voice lines are a bit wacky at times, but that doesn't affect gameplay, which is just as lethal as before. to say mowas2 has a ton more mods seems odd when the game just came out, mods will not take place day 1 or even week 1 of the game release, so i can't judge or compare it to that.
It's a cashgrab, Devs intention was to make it free first with microtransactions. Now we have the 1 time buy version where you still have to GRIND for the units which are FREE in all the other titles XD 50 eur?! OFC. MoW1, MOWAS2 and maybe even the first Soldiers HoWWII are better than this...
@Seltheros I wouldn't label it a cashgrab, but thinking about it, they really structured the game as if it was supposed to be free to play. You have always online requirements, different values (???) in game in terms of coins and free experience. Also unlocking units with different colors and tiers, a daily missions looking like system. If this wasn't a MOW2, you could think I am talking about War thunder or World of Tanks instead of Men of War. It really gives an odd feeling. It looks like they scraped the free to play model at the last second to avoid the incredible backlash they would have called upon themselves
I enjoy reading everyones opinion, honestly - since MoW isn't a series I've followed as closely as some of you have. Goes to show how large this genre, and gaming is in general. Fans of the series may be upset when comparing it to their beloved game, while new players may say "oh cool, army game!" and not think twice about the older instalments, i may qualify as the ladder:) In either case, from what I've personally played, having spent less time with the series in the past compared to veterans with hundreds of hours, i still think it packs a punch. I do agree with some of the negatives I've seen written on steam, but would not persuade me to not recommend it, as I do think it's genuinely a fun game. Edit: formatting/typos~
To all those that don't like men of war 2 grow up it's a good game it's not a bad game get good then noobs, at least unlike ostfront men of war two actually works and runs way better playing against all other people from all across the world but in ostfront it's almost impossible to play even 3v3 games it's why you only see 2v2 or 1v1 or pve games and even those pve games can sometimes hardly run but men of war 2 actually runs so much better as a veteran of mowAs2 I approve of this game just try it out and see for yourself there are many things to like about this game and yes it has its faults like the UI but the UI is really not bad at all get glasses I dont need em lol
my excitement has dropped below the floor.. this game aint even worth 5$ to me when i can just go regrind the same maps on AS2 that ive been playing once a year for the last 5 whenever i get an itch for a large scale derp invasion of 20 pnzer 4s charging the last enemy line. i should really see if there are map mods cuz thats the only thing lacking in my opinion lol
I know graphics arent everything but why the hell does this game look so bad? I honestly couldnt really tell the difference between this or the old Men of War games.
there was certainly a nicer way of saying that, but sure be annoyed that i spend several days fine tuning a video so your lazy ass can skip around~ Chapters: 00:00 intro 00:52 Difference RTS/RTT 02:15 What's included? 03:25 Story 5:00 Tech tree 6:10 Tech EXP tree details 11:24 Tutorial 11:50 Conquest and Raids 12:55 Multiplayer 13:10 PVP Battalions 16:07 PVE Battalions 16:16 PVP Classic 16:30 PVP Combined Arms 17:10 Additional Features
My biggest gripe is the deck-builder BS. I like the idea of creating your force but it's ridiculous that I can only have 6 T-34s total and 6-8 units on the field at a time. Maybe I'm just too used to play MoWAS2 with mods but the scale of MoW2 feels really small.
