Wow, I'm excited for this video - your Slow Fashion Capsule Wardrobe staples for Winter 2023. It's always great to see people embracing sustainable fashion choices.
Nice to revisit this video Josh. And nice to see the Filson Prospector hoodie in action. Mine is now in the UK and arriving on my doorstep tomorrow! I liked that tan quilted jacket. Also reminded me of the quilted jac-shirt from Filson.
Great video! Not only well made but I feel like you compared to a lot of Americans doing these type of videos are good at picking things that will work for both the office and casual here in Norway where we don’t really wear silly things like suits for work
So glad to hear it! Since I work from home I definitely don’t have a need for suits, but I always like to maintain some style going about my day to day living.
@@joshfenn totally. I work as a programmer and journalist for a Norwegian newspaper, both very casual spaces clothing wise. I work from home Mondays and Fridays. If you even dress smart casual for work here people ridicule you slightly. :)
Haha yeah he is. He’s had some eye trouble the past few months and actually just had surgery yesterday. Went well luckily but we’ve got some tough recovery time ahead to get through.
love to check wardrobe tips as a high school student because it's easier with the capsule strategy to build outfits for the week. cheers from brazil 🇧🇷
My Dream Hoodie... A thick cotton popover hoodie sourced and made in North America with mid forearm past the elbow sleeves. Nothing pisses me off more than washing my hands and having the pushed up hoodie sleeve slip down when washing! I've looked, and nobody makes a hoodie like I have described.
I'm a big fan of the Xtratuf deck boots but I did find that they ran a bit larger. I just use a nice thick pair of socks when I'm going to wear them. I just picked up a Relwen Quitled Tanker on Huckberry's "Drop #1" for Black Friday. Can't wait for it to arrive!
Same here for the boots! A bit annoying in the warmer months but the extra room for thick socks during winter camping has been great. You’re gonna love the tanker! Grabbed one from last years run and it’s excellent.
Thanks! I totally get the budget concern, I had a tight/non existent clothing budget for many years before this. That’s the tough side of the higher quality slow fashion mentality, the barrier to entry is unfortunate. The channel sponsors are the only way I have been able to make any upgrades, I’m extremely grateful to be in my current position.
I have a few of the hoodies from American Giant; they are cotton but still warm and well made. I’m not sure I could bring myself to spend the money on one of those wool ones you mentioned but they sound great
I totally get that! The technical fabrics can really add up in price but I’ve really been loving it so far. American Giant is awesome too, I’m sure you’re pretty well set up already with those.
I’ve heard great things about Kuhl but still haven’t had the chance to try them out. On my list for the future! The Duer pants have been great for me in the summer here in Oregon, but we have relatively mild weather and humidity. I tend to dislike the look of the really thin and light pants designed for summer, but if you’re consistently in extreme hot and humid environments it may be worth checking into something a bit thinner.
Love the channel! Been following since around 5k! Any chance you show what your wife wears? I always have trouble finding a women equivalent for some of the clothing in your videos. Thanks for the content!
Such a long time ago, I sincerely appreciate you sticking around for so long through all the changes over the years! My wife hasn’t really wanted to be in the videos much anymore as the channel has grown but something like this could be really fun and interesting. I’ll see what I can do! She does a lot of thrifting so it’ll probably be tough to replicate but could still give some fun inspo. I’ll let her know you’re interested!
Great content, very good recommendations, I have a question your hoodie you are wearing on this video the Filson Prospector I see on their website they have 2 models, 1 regular Prospector Hoodie & the Prospector Reversible Hoodie, I don’t see the color you have on the regular one but I see that color you have on the Prospector Reversible, do you mind if you can help me clarify which one did you have is the regular or the reversible Prospector Thanks Again fantastic feed on your channel Gerry
Thanks for the kind words and support! My prospector hoodie is just the standard/regular one and not the reversible. If they happen to restock, the color I got last year was called ‘root’. Love the hoodie though if the other colors look good for you! My only complaint is that the sleeves are a bit short for my long arms, otherwise it’s been excellent.
@@joshfenn Thank you for you response back, this definitely will help me as well the length of the arms, that is very important. I'm 5' 10" 175 pounds typically i wear "large" on anything, but the Filson items i have purchase I have to choose the "Medium Size". Thank you Again. Gerry
Hi Josh, liking the videos so keep that content coming. From the UK but over in New York soon, would yourself or anyone know if any stores stock Relwen or Flint and Tinder?
I didn’t realize Huckberry didn’t ship over to you! I’ll take a look and let you know if I find any options, but as far as I know they’re both exclusively direct to consumer online. Depending on where you’re staying you could have something shipped to the hotel/airbnb maybe?
@@joshfenn thanks Josh appreciate that. Have ordered online before from huckberry just much easier to try on and pick it up in a store I find. So if any places great.
Forgot to mention in the video! I’m 5’11”, 180lbs with a 42” chest. Happy to answer any specific sizing questions on stuff too, things can swing so dramatically between companies. I’m typically a medium or large for tops and 34/medium for bottoms in most everything.
Hey Josh, great video, thank you! I am a very similar build to you and am going to try the Outdoor Vitals jacket in Large. I also want to try to Relwen Quitled Tanker and am curious what size you have in that? Thank you!
@erock0869 both great picks! Working on a winter jacket for this year right now and included both of these. I have the tanker in a medium, it’s been a really good fit for me.
It’s not but that would be pretty cool! Relwen seems to post inside-out photos for all of their products I’ve noticed regardless if they’re reversible or not
