I’m eyeing 1-2 Corduroy Shirt Jackets in different colors in a mens dress magazine I get regularly. I would say it can look good dressed up depending on how the outfit is dressed. Corduroy is of cotton so an Outer Jacket of the fabric should work well in the transition seasons and for layering. I personally have at least almost a dozen shirt jackets, they cover being made of different material and some works better for different seasons. Some are made of Linen, a few Linen blend with Cotton, few all Wool. I would definitely get something that fits in between as full Cotton for the seasons and a Corduroy can fit right in there. I’ll also be honest to say, I’ve never always quite liked Corduroy when I was younger the pants. But the jackets look a bit cool as a layer jacket dressed up and if of a nice design.

Just wear something colorful you like to wear layered underneath if you like being colorful. At best she gives you the idea of the style which is the most important thing. If you have a variety of Shirt Jackets in different colors, it can exponentially increase the amount of style variation you can do in your personal style. That’s what I do. A few days ago I went into my office with a bright new Yellow Linen shirt. People in my office don’t wear that much bright colors. But I luv wearing bright colors. That yellow was like POW 💥! But I layered that Yellow Oxford Shirt below a Full Cotton Navy Shirt Jacket. It looked damn good too. I got everyone’s attention at the office, though that wasn’t the goal. I just try to dress well while the other engineers at my office they don’t care or have much sense of dress style. But find shirts or Knits type shirts maybe in colors you like and if that work for you in layering then it works for you maybe. For me I try to have different kind of shirts in a variety of colors so I have a variety of options to layer with under a Shirt Jacket.

Wear a sports jackets instead of sweaters. It brings up your shoulders to take attention off of that belly. There are pretty casual looking sports jackets available for more casual guys.
