Great content, Chris. Nadine is a natural on camera and a great interviewee. I get my hair cut every four weeks by a hairdresser and very good friend I was at school with. Like so many other skills, once you have found someone who does a great job, you stick with them and appreciate how special they are. Strangely, I won’t let anyone trim my beard but me. After 40 years of practice, I can manage that myself perfectly every time. As well as a haircut, it is the curse of excess hair growth on eyebrows, ears and nostrils that we older gents should also regularly deal with if we want to stay well groomed. I just wish it would instead grow on the top of my head where I need it!😂
Hi John, lovely to hear from you again. Glad you enjoyed the video and I will pass on your compliments to Nadine. I agree with you about when you have found that person you trust with your hair and in my case what is left of it, then stick with them (loyalty), with time there become a bond of trust and honesty that develops which is invaluable - trust your hairdresser. You are so right, as age advances the the growing need to tend to of areas of facial hair need to be tended too, (Nasal, ears and eyebrow hair). I also trim and groom my own beard. 👍🙂
Looking good Chris, love the pink shirt with that jacket and square. I was mortified when my hair thinned really quickly when I was 26 so tried as much as possible to have it cut in way that disguised it. I did that for about 6 months and then shaved it off. I really though that was it, I was doomed to spending my life looking dreadful but was surprised when nobody treated me any differently. I was even told by some of the women I dated that they much preferred a man with a shaved head. I guess the best advice is to work with what you've got and don't worry too much. Find a good hairdresser and trust their judgement. My hair was always too wavy and too light for my liking but I used to have a style that suited my face shape and that was enough. If I could grow it back now I'd still shave it all off.
Hi Rob, lovely to hear from you again. Glad you enjoyed the video. I can understand how you would feel at the tender age of just 26, I think you realised after persevering with it for 6 months the reality was you were better off with no hear and I guess there are many people that find themselves in a similar situation. Nadine is a good example of a stylist that can tell you what she thinks would suit a person and what wouldn't suit them, whether that might be because of the shape of your face or the amount of hair you have available to achieve a particular look or if it is really age appropriate and there are many out there like her, who have decades of experience and have seen similar styles come and go. Thank you for sharing with us 👍🙂
I'n lucky in my fifties to still have some left up top. I get my haircut every 5-6 weeks & I was due for a trim last weekend but my stylist had just broken her arm, bless her, which leaves me in rather a quandary. I agree, if you want a decent mens haircut get a woman to do it. Too many £12 quid shave & a fade barbers.
Hi Barry, sorry to hear about your stylist breaking her arm. I understand your predicament, I personally have no problem with using a Barbers, but since Nadine has done my her I find she is a little more creative and has a better grasp on trends. Where as a Barber's tend to be more set on using their standard styles and way of cutting. It it be worth asking your stylist what to do about getting your hair cut until she can go back to work? She might recommend someone to do it in her absence 🙂👍
Hi there, lovely to hear from you again and glad you enjoyed the video. I have no personal experience or knowledge of these products to be able to give you a constructive answer, sorry I can't help on this one, there are a number of recommendations and comparisons drawn between these 2 on Google etc 🙁👍
I once dyed my hair black and got the nickname "Astro Boy" from my co-workers. Ha! I get "wings" if my hair is too long so 1-2 weeks is max if I want to keep decent. I can sometimes push it to 3 weeks if I just trim the wings, but you must avoid the cycle of clean cut to unkept, rather you want to look tidy every week. If your hair is a little unkept it is important to keep clean shaven. If my wings start on the head, and the bottom of my face has three day growth it all looks very bad, but just shaving the face makes even a slightly unkept head look cleaner.
Hi there, great to hear from you, sorry to hear about the nickname 🙁. I make a good point about if your hear is a little unkempt, there insure you shave regularly or trim your beard, at least it looks like you are still making a effort to look good and if you get your hair trimmed reasonably frequently it wouldn't look unkempt for long. When I was in the Army, we use to have what was called a neck shave, which was basically a haircut for just the exposed hair when you were wearing a hat or Beret, I don't know if many people get them now-a-days. Glad you enjoyed the video👍🙂
Another great video 🙋haircut for me 5/6 weeks, love my gray hair coming through 👌, my barber is Mediterranean Mario we are roughly same age few other youngsters in the shop, they know Mario is my Man eyebrows, ears, bit of product I favour wax, and that new powder stuff, I traditional shave anyway DE razor 👍, build a rapport give a tip 💰, it pays back in the long run, they can knock year's off you, little joke take 10 year's off me, he said he's a barber not a magician 😂
Hi there, glad you enjoyed this video. Celebrating grey is much more better than dying your hair badly and pretending you haven't. I agree with you it is important to establish a repour or friendship with your barber or stylist, as you rightly state they can make you look great and really enhance your look. True hair growth increases in some places (eyebrows, hears and nostrils) and thins in other areas with age, so they need to be kept in check. A tip will always go down well and is a sign of appreciation. a great joke even if a little dated😆👍
TBD l changed my haircut, to short crop a few years back fortunately I’m all grey and a full head of crop, and last month ditched the shaver too. LOL it’s a quick once over with the Flymo (pets clippers really) 😂😂😂😂 no dye no products, l do wear hats, bobble when or flat cap when working. Recently l found dads hats straw, Trilby it might be a short brimmed Fedora, heading to 70 at the speed of light, basically my view is I’m happy and you don’t need to look at me. ❤ Think I’ll be getting more hats 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Hi there, great to hear from you and glad you enjoyed the video. a short crop of buzz cut is a very popular haircut, it does not suit everyone, but its great to hear you have a growing appreciation of hats. 👍🙂
