It's an outfit or regalia, a costume is something you wear to play pretend. These men are not pretending, but expressing their identity through the medium of dance.
@@cheeselordii9253 I absolutely know that. Have been to pow wows for years. Sorry at age 73 I couldn't remember the right word. There's always a smart a** in the crowd.
Sorry about that sir/ma'am, I realize now how I may've come across as a smartass. As a dancer myself though, we do appreciate when people use correct terminology. Again I apologize for my tone in that reply.
@@cheeselordii9253 I grew up studying and admiring all the various tribes across the U.S. and then being an amateur archeologist for over 30 years. Now in my 70's and I still love to see authentic tribal wear in pow wows.
