Wow the two fragrances you referenced are the only two I own from Creed and now that you mention it, men always recognize and comment when I'm wearing Aventus, and women always comment on how nice I smell when I'm wearing the Silver Mountain Water. You're 💯 spot on
As a guy who owns aventus I 100 agree with this. We men just keep on fanboying over aventus so hard we overlook the fact that loving this scent doesn't make 85% of females around you would go crazy after that scent.
For me I love blending silver mountain water with YSL L’homme they pair well together. Both are great individually and can hold their own but better together imo
@@aliandroidrom it’s really a good blend and not overbearing. I started blending it years back when I was younger and thought SMW was too strong and wanted to lighten it up a bit. l’homme was the perfect match to calm it down
You're right...I saw a video on Jeremy's Channel where he showed Creed fragrances to a girl and her reaction to Aventus was "ok" but she gave Silver Mountain Water a 10/10 haha... I believe you are the most accurate fragrance RU-vidr 🤝
What an interesting perspective, because this was my exact response -- instead, it was for Aventus Cologne vs Silver Mountain Water. I've got to give Silver Mountain Water another shot now
TBH...I've never understood why men take fragrance advice from other men. I've always wanted to know what women like...not what other men think women like or stories from other men on what women like.
Honestly, with this topic you proved that you are the smartest fragrance lover, I always think of that, I have a big collection, some of them only men compliments me.
I feel you. I barely touch my Aventus bc it’s not that special to me. Virgin Island Water, Millisime imperial, and Viking are the best to me-in that order. Those do well in the tropical weather here and my body chemistry takes them to another level. Silver Mountain Water smells like a sack of nickels on me tho lol
I love VIW! Used to have it back when I was a collector in 2010ish. I have Coco-Lime from Goblinparfums (my company) that I wear now for vacation type scents. Its not as coconut as VIW its a lot more lime and saltwater.
@@darknightemperor8174 I like GIT but it doesnt make my top 3, GIT is top 5 for me. The other two for me personally are VIW and Aventus Cologne (yup I like Aventus Cologne better than the OG Aventus)
Love your videos. This is how I’ve always felt and why Ive never based my fragrance decisions on what men say smell good. Ive had fragrances that I thought smelled amazing but that women hated. Some men don’t care to attract women with their fragrances and thats fine too.
exactly. it's something similar to what women say about their clothes and make up. it's not always for men when they get dolled up but for how it makes them feel. Ombre leather by Tom Ford is as masculine as it can get and I love it. not one compliment as of yet and I'm cool with it. planning to buy a bigger bottle.
Ladies around me love Aventus, but it is true, guys love it more Silver mountain water is awesome but in my case Green Irish tweed is the one that ladies love the most 😀
Hmm I dunno, I have club de nuit intense man which is very similar to aventus and get mad compliments from women with it, literally everytime in the night time
You are right on!! I smelled Aventus 3-4 times at Nordstrom, was given a sample to where for about a week. I just could not see the fascination. Ended up buying Himalaya. I will still smell Adventus when I go into Nordstrom once in a while, Its just not for me. I think a person can get caught up in what everyone likes.
In my experience in the first year that I owned aventus I've gotten more compliments with it then any of my other fragrances in my whole life combined. I don't buy it anymore cause performance is terrible now and it's way to expensive. But the compliments I got from woman wearing it was just incredible
Insert Club De Nuit Intense Man! I have both and they’re damn near 1 for 1 and you have to try extremely hard and have a great nose to smell the difference.
Facts, I have both Aventus and SMW and I don’t receive a single compliment or a comment on SMW, meanwhile with Aventus and Aventus dna scents or clones compliments and reaction are crazy every time, now i blend Aventus and Aventus Cologne and spray it on clothes too to enhance the performance plus i put the aftershave Aventus cream and is by far the most incredible smell in the scents game, like I’m bored of compliments
Bravo Melissa! Bravo! Love how you brought this point up. You are so right! I like the smell of SMW, but being a male I was never truly enamored with it as my female counterparts are. I haven't reached for it that much because the current formulation of SMW lacks of longevity/ projection on my skin. Gone in 1-2 hrs. I've long taken a stand not to buy anymore clones, but I was recently gifted Armaf's Club de Nuit Sillage, and I was impressed with the quality and how similar it was to an older bottle of SMW that I had. The performance blows the current SMW away. Not sure if you got your nose on that Armaf yet, but given your experience with the original SMW, I would love to see what your opinion on that Armaf would be. Not as good on paper as it is on skin, but on skin it really blurs the lines between clone and original. Ironically, to further your point, it was a woman that bought the fragrance for me. I just did a google search it goes for $35 to $40.
Also consider how a fragrance mixes with a persons natural odor, especially when their pores are open. I only get compliments when I wear Eros, Code, Invictus, CK Eternity, and Fierce. Also, EDP get more compliments Thant EDT and parfum’s for some reason.
I just picked up Silver Mountain Water. Im really enjoying it and might make it a signature. It’s simplicity blends very well together. The top notes threw me off at first spray. It’s the dry down where it shines. This video convinced me to go ahead and get into niche fragrances. I got Layton on the way and thinking of picking up Side Effect afterwards.
I've watched so many people talk about colognes this young lady is probably the best one that puts it into layman's terms that you can understand great video great Insight thank you for your knowledge
@@nawafalsuqairy2812 I’m a little bit of an over-sprayer. I usually spread it out. Two sprays to each side of the back of my neck. One spray each shoulder. Two along each forearm and two on the back of my knees if I’m wearing shorts.
Funny you say that because I wore Adventis a couple of weeks ago to the Nike store and I had 3 dudes compliment me on the cologne. SMW is a beast and definitely gets more compliments from the ladies.
I have 5 different Creed perfumes/colognes but the best one for me is Royal Oud. Every time I wear it, I receive a lot of compliments and 99% of those actually come from women. I do like Silver Mountain too, that said. Men who love Aventus like to smell like males (virility matter). When you wear Aventus, you smell like money, like doctor, like a boss.
This is honestly facts. I wear Aventus but most of my female friends/family members go wild over SMW. I legit couldn't believe what I say when they smelled the bottle but its true. Great vid
yup she's right my favorite scent is aventus and all the smoky fruity pineapplely scents but my wife's favorite out of my 50+ fragrance collection is Creed Silver mountain water😭 love this one tho👍.
I own both Aventus and Silver Mountain Water and I can tell you for a fact that I got more compliments, if not all, from girls with Silver Mountain Water. I never got a compliment from women wearing Aventus, only from guys.
Silver Mountain Water, Original Vetiver, Spice & Wood, Viking, and Royal Oud are my favorite Creeds. Neroli Sauvage and Himalaya are criminally underrated.
Good nose my man, now get your nose on Vetiver Geranium.. my top 5 are: 1.Royal Oud 2. Vetiver Geranium 3. Spice and Wood 4. SMW 5. Either Original Vetiver or Milliseme Imperial or Aventus, idk havnt decided yet lol
@@jrawblue24 oh yeah! I heard a lot about Vetiver Geranium. As I am a big fan of Original Vetiver. It’s a shame that some of the Creeds don’t get the proper recognition because Creed Aventus is always hogging the spotlight. But I be trying Vetiver Geranium and Asian Green Tea. My mom loves Creed Love in White and Princess Royal Oud. My sister loves Creed Love in Black.
@@chrismccall797 I hear about Asian green tea… I need to get my nose on it. But yeah, to me Original Vetiver should get the hype that Green Irish tweed gets, it’s far superior
For me, Royal Water is perhaps the single most criminally underrated and overlooked Creed offering. Easily the best performing, too. Yeah, younger noses may perceive it as "dated", but I'm still shy of 30, and I adore it. Royal Water on the beach in the dead heat of summer? Gorgeous.
This is good content showing folks what really is attractive. The irony is in the lived experience more people noticed my middle eastern oils vs designer scents.
My wife hates Silver Mountain water but loves Aventus on me. The metallic vibe of SMW destroys it for me too but I do appreciate it as a creation. Nice video.
I think in general whether it's your fragrance or your clothes or what you drive or any other thing that you do in that vein in life, do it for yourself. Dress in the clothes that make you feel good. Drive the car that fits you and your life. Wear fragrances that you enjoy. When you start wearing clothes that you think other people will think are cool, you get a car that you think will impress others, or you wear a fragrance that you think will magically make you attractive to others, you're doing yourself a disservice. You're losing yourself. Because maybe someone will make up a story in their head about how great you are because they like your clothes or car or scent, but it's not a good story about you. Those things will tell the story of someone who is willing to be someone they're not if it means strangers might like them. You don't want to be that person. When those strangers aren't around, you are left alone with clothes and a car and a scent that you never wanted, and that's sad and lonely. Dress for yourself, drive the car that's best for you, and always remember that when everyone is gone, you still need to smell yourself.
I forgot to mention that your comment about UNISEX frags having most game is also on point. Although I actually prefer smelling more masculine scents on my skin for myself, there is no denying that the most compliments I receive from ladies are when wearing frags that are consider UNISEX. Dior's Bois d'Argent, Side Effect, Layton, TF Plum Japonais, and BR540 are all prime examples.
male scents that men like vs men's scents that women like and the difference. Sold. Subscribed. i like the theory since there are some women's fragrances which are marketed as men magnets that I find nauseating to me. Respect. Subscribed.
Furthermore, what I have learned is that if you are a very masculine kind of man, the tall bulky type, you should go for a more feminine fragrance because it “softens” your appearance and makes you much more likable and approachable for women. In general: Women don't want to feel intimidated by you, they want to feel safe around you. Take this into account, when choosing your fragrance.
It’s my number one fav creed fragrance too, Aventus is a classic but once you smell the other creed fragrances you realize they have better ones like silver mountain water, virgin island water, green Irish tweed and the list goes on
there was a creed employee who says the same people think aventus is what women love but it was silver mountain water the women loved in store and men loved aventus
I love Creed Aventus (actually the oil from Zoha Aroma). It ticks almost all the boxes for men, that is the older batches. It is fresh then woody, rich and masculine. However i think it lacks a little sex appeal to please women. The new king is Layton, second king in the game! :)
Layton has MUCH better longevity than Aventus and has quickly become my go to over Aventus. The 2010-2015 Aventus batches were amazing and the new batches lack much of what made me love Aventus.
I agree. I noticed the fragrances I like as a guy women don’t feel the same way. I’m actually very into unisex fragrances over masculine. I don’t need to smell manly all the damn time. Side note In the beginning of getting into designer/niche fragrances I looked for what women like. Now I buy what I prefer. To each their own but if I’m going to be spending over $100 on something which I always do then at that point I’m not wearing it for others or their compliments. Half the time I’m not even getting compliments but I just love the way I smell. And I take pride in that. I don’t need any compliments from anybody although it’s nice and I have gotten them that shouldn’t be your main reason for buying something in my opinion. I feel like I don’t need to be validated for something that I enjoy. And if others do too then great if they don’t like it great because I do!
I have had Creed Aventus for a while now but i hardly ever got compliments by women just every once in a while but fragrance like Halloween Man X i get compliments all the time and so yeah you are right i think Creed Aventus appeals more to men than women at least thats what i have generally experienced .
Swiss Alps in a bottle. I've been rocking SMW since the 90's. It's one of my favorites. My top Creed is Spice and Wood. Aventus is the ultimate suit fragrance for Men. It's that kind of fragrance.
Spot on with your analysis. Not to mention I did the same thing when I first smelled in like 05 then i saved up 350 dollars and came back and bought it. 120 ML at the time and it’s the first Niche and Creed fragrance I ever bought. Def the best one hands down to me.
Hello. Thank you for your insight. On a whim, I recently, sprayed on Creed Neroli Sauvage before my jog/walk around a local golf course/park/jogging trail. I'd forgotten that I had the sample and wanted to revisit the fragrance. Within about 10- 15 minutes in, I notice this one lithe young lady jogging by and thought nothing of it, but then she turned around and ran back past me. I thought nothing of it, but then another young collage aged lovely, jogged by and she also turned around and jogged past me. I thought I'd forgotten something, so I reversed course and headed back to my place. This woman ended up reversing course and passing me about 5 times, which I though was a somewhat unusual jogging pattern, but (being a bit clueless), didn't connect the dots. With the understanding that women have a much superior sense of smell, later that day I went to local grocery store (of course, with the intent to give women the pleasure of experiencing an unique fragrance), I adorned myself with about 2 sprays. As I was leaving the store, I passed by another attractive lady who offered no eye contact, yet she suddenly had to retrace her steps and returned to her car, again, I surmised, the experience the fragrance. I was once one of those "CroMagNumbNuts" that balked at a universal fragrance. Thanks to you I now understand why I received the reaction that I did, and last night I went on line to invest in a relatively small SMW purchase. Still working on being more approachable, but I'm now better armed with the knowledge to leverage the power of an amazing scent WRT giving women sensual (olfactory) pleasure. Thanks again.
I don't wear fragrances for other people, though smelling good to others is a perk. Not a fan of Silver Mountain Water on my skin at all. It reminds me of Gucci Memoire d'une Odeur, which my fiancee wears. It does smell nice, just not on me. It's not that I dislike unisex fragrances. I love a lot of iris scents, for example, and BR540. This one just goes feminine on my skin in a way I don't enjoy. Doesn't feel like "me." As for Aventus, I do quite like it, but there are so many similar scents and clones these days. My favorite Creeds are probably Green Irish Tweed and Virgin Island Water.
