One of my top 10 favourite songs and yes I’m here in 2020! This song represents everything good and pure about the 80’s and makes me incredibly nostalgic....God, what I wouldn’t do to go back in time!!!! xx
This song brings instant joy!!❤🎉❤❤❤❤cheers to creativeness and imagination!!We need this more than ever these days!! Positive vibes big time!!! Never loose your passion!!💫💕❤️
I love this album and so many of the songs on it. It's really a hidden treasure, so quirky and playful but also kind of dark and it rocks in its own way. And the melodies are fantastic. And I like the videos too, cheesy as they are... they're so trippy, they take you to another place.
I agree. Men without Hat's album has a heck of alot of good songs. Not just a hit and filler. Top's still in my list of albums. It's one of the CD's that i've iTune'd (like with DCD, REM, etc.).
Hola soy de Perú de la ciudad de Limae llamo Ohad este fabulosa canción la escuchaba en las radios de 1987 tenía 12 años ahora tengo 46 añose hizo recordar mi adolescencia gracias por subirla Dios lo bendiga
Cool. I appreciate it more and 'Pop Goes the World' now knowing it's story. I think it's trilogy. What's the actress' name who played Jenny? Thanks, stay safe. God bless, Rev. 21:4
@@SeverityOne I don't think that's her, She's in Safety Dance, but I think thats it. I'm not sure if its the same Jenny in this and the PGTW video. The Jenny on the Moonbeam single doesn't look like the PGTW Jenny LP/single either.
i think this is their best song. they should be given the order of canada. they were canada's inxs, roxette, and duran duran and depeche mode all in one. that kid is mitsou!
Genius. I'm more into darkwave postpunk industrial etc, and dislike almost anything 'upbeat' but this is an exception which breaks the rule. Men without hats. wow.
I love MWH and bet this video was so much fun to film, I love how it looks like it is out a fairytale. I miss the old sets, and no CGI - unforgettable!
One two three four (Love-Love-Love-Love) You, you were on a moon- MOON-BEAM Me, I was on a star Gee everything was blue, BLUE-GREEN Be cause everything was far Me, I was in a mo- MO-VIE You, you were in a song Gee everything was groo, GRO-OVY We everything was wrong And no matter where you are I can always see that far You were on a MO-ON-BEAM of love A pretty little moonbeam It's you I'm thinking of HEY! I was only trying to say You're a million miles away I can feel you dancin' anyway You, you were on a moonbeam And me I was in a cloud And everything was Lou Reed And everything was loud No matter where you were Well I could always see that fer You were on a MO-ON-BEAM of love A pretty little moonbeam Moonbeam of love A pretty little moonbeam Shining from above A pretty little moonbeam It's you I'm thinking of A pretty little moonbeam Do you dream of LOVE
MWH is known as a two-hit wonder (Safety dance and Pop goes the World) but that's really unfair because the other songs they did were even better. I this is my second favorite (the best one is Jenny Wore Black).
You forgot to mention the song "I like"! D: LOL seriously though, these guys were simply labeled "The band that made 'The Safety Dance'... oh, and 'Pop Goes the World', I guess", then passed on... it's a load of bull!... crap! Same thing with the bugles, and I'm sure they aren't the only "one hit wonder" 80s bands to have this cursed title brought upon them; and you can help by donating just pennies a day to... whoops, got carried away! XD Bottom line, they're awsome, and hear "I like"
@Smijit1234 Actually you're right. I remember seeing these guys backstage in the 80's, where the singer was smoking a joint. My family actually has it on VHS as my brother was going around video taping everyone with a huge video cameras of the time. Funny thing is the singer actually offered my brother a drag while he was being video taped. lol I should go and find the video.. again. We used to laugh about it all the time.
+Resty Mervin Ponio: Is that a Rickenbacher bass she's playing? Paul McCartney, and Lenny Kilmister of Mötörhead, played different models, but they were both Rickenbachers.
Thats not her, I Googled her and it said she toured with the band, that girl is to young to be playing in the band. I think shes just an actor they used for the videos.
@wildboy789789 Good day The snowman is a character known as "Bonnehomme" The mascot of Winterfest. They included him firstly for fun,..secondly to "remind us" that the band is from Quebec! It's a co-incidence to the global warming situation. I have most of MWH albums..& still love to hear them on radio! Hey!...go check out fellow Quebec star Mitsou's song "Funny Place" (The World Is) You'll see who produced the song....(& maybe like her songs also)!
Ultracool song, but of course it makes a heck of a lot more sense when you hear it with the entire album, as it was a concept album about a fictional band dealing with the sudden rise and collapse of fame. As one mag put it: cartoonish yet dark.
@dunbar9finger it seems unforgivably unfair they were deemed so: my own personal list of Single-worthy favorites from MWH is in the twenties. So many under-appreciated classics. I think they were absolutely definitive as capturing what might be loosely termed as the 'Spirit of the Eighties', in look, feel politics and composition. They were (and are) sheer genius.
Ivan Doroschuk kept his new companions, Elvis, the Guitar Girl both from "Pop Goes the World", and the Snowman from "Where Do the Boys Go?". Sadly, the Jester and the Girl from "Safety Dance" aren't around.
"Sadly, the Jester and the Girl from "Safety Dance" aren't around." Ya they hooked up and now have a little caravan somewhere in the UK with a bumper sticker on the door that says "If the Caravan's a'Rockin -Dont bother Knockin"
@Ampersandra the snow man was because in the 70's when we found out about climate change they called it global freezing... his song antartica is all about climate change

Cyberhat, You don't know how long I had been waiting for someone to put a video of this song here!!! Thank YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's awesome music like this which makes me call myself a Retro Canuck Junkie.
How the fuck! Did: Moonbeam I got the message Where do boys go Security Antartica and Sideways Not fucking chart! Not even for one week! Not even to #99 or something.
