I heard Menachem Pressler give a master class at the New England Conservatory a quarter of a century ago. I was not a big fan of the Beaux Arts Trio recordings, perhaps because the miking was always so close and Didn't think the instruments blended very well. Anyway, I was not anticipating anything earth-shattering from the class. Boy, did I feel like an idiot. Pressler's knowledge and musicality was tremendous, and when he played, which he did quite a lot, was some of the most beautiful playing I had ever heard. I am so pleased to have come across this video. What a musician!!!
