@@richardnelson-ux1zz I agree I think it’s a bargain . I also have the Santa Fe Black Bonnet on order also I will be doing a video on it as soon as I get it . Thanks for the comment 🚂🚂🚂
Hey Ren. I have some Menards items, but I haven't bought any of their new engines. I was able to buy a complete O-scale Menards train set at my local train show last fall from 2011. It was built by Lionel. It came with the Milwaukee Road USRA 0-8-0 steam switcher, flat cars with lumber loads, crane, and a caboose. It's a neat set. The caboose you bought is a bay window caboose. Menards consider their train items as a seasonal Christmas item. They will move them to the sales floor area from the mezzanine in early fall around October sometime. Usually behind the registers where the swimming items were stocked for summer and will remain there until around February. Early fall is the best time to find the best selection. It's at least double of what they keep in the mezzanine. Its an entire half of an isle. They only ever stock a minimal amount of a few of their online offerings. What you see is all you'll ever get. They don't even seem to make much of an attempt to bring in additional stock once they run out during the season. What ever they don't sell during the Christmas season, the picked over items are moved back to the mezzanine until fall and remain there untill it's time to be put out with the new seasonal items. To save on shipping, Menards gives you the option, when ordering from their online store to ship to a store of your choosing for free and they provide tracking on your order.
In the words of crocodile dundee u call that a knife now this is a knife 🔪 😂 glad ur injoying ur caboose I love my UP and my santafe caboose from manards have fun think they've improved the trucks and pick ups on them
@@JimAlderson-cn6ek 😝🙃🤪 thank you. You’re UP & Santa Fe are great looking cabooses I have seen them a must have . Seems like Menards made a improvement good to hear from you
One thing to watch on caboose is the axle bearing caps the little caps on end of axle can work loose not hard to press back in but easy to loose don't ask me how I know that 😂 just somthing to check periodically have a great week and keep on tracking 😊
@@JimAlderson-cn6ek I would love have the set . I seen a guy on E bay trying to get $500 I was thinking nothing wrong with making a profit but trying to rob people is another thing
My layout is on hold right now sumer time to many things going on have big yard plus family things get a few hours in here and there weather gets dad ill b back on it
Nice caboose. I might have to order one. What did you use to ballast your tracks? Right now, I'm using Fast Track but I'm thinking about shifting back to the old style three rail.
@@JimAlderson-cn6ek actually it was clipping the mountain and I didn’t know it the paint wasn’t fully dry. I left it on the engine I thought it looked like it has seen some action
