Hear from two students what it was like to contract bacterial meningitis. If you have any symptoms, get to your local emergency room as soon as possible. It's better to be safe than sorry.

I had meningitis as a baby, I don't remember it at all but my parents tell me I nearly died. Terrified them to see me hospitalized

Bacterial meningitis doesn't need to travel down your spin to affect motor skills. It is, however, nearly always fatal without treatment. It's extremely unlikely you had bacterial meningitis and spontaneously recovered. Viral meningitis has a high incidence of spontaneous recovery, but like most viruses, never goes away. You would still test positive today.

I had it when I was fifteen, on my way to my guitar lesson I suddenly had a headache (not really strong, but somehow strange, different from the other times). I asked my teacher if I could leave my cap on. When I was on my way home, I started getting worse and worse. There was a chemistry test on the day after, but I couldn't study. I checked my temperature which was above 38 Degrees. The following days it got worse and worse, I couldn't walk anymore and I stared vomiting. The heacache got unbearable. We got a doctor to my home, he said I was fine and I should just take on taking my medicine. 2 days later we went to another doctor, who said I should eat more and that I was snivelling... Thank God afterwards my parents took me to hospital, they took care of me. The first thing they did they gave me painkillers directly into my blood, which felt great.

Did you really had bacterial meningitis? It's really don't look like typical one because you die within 24hours from it.

It was kind of odd because the back of my head was numb for about a week, but the initial encounter traveled down my spine and it hurt so bad I thought I had cancer. Couldn't even move and my family wouldn't take me to the doctor even though I asked.

There's alott more nightmare storys I went through I can't write about it all..but I still enjoy reading and seeing movies documentary movies and utube videos of Vietnam Vetrans...I find what the those soldiers..went through there and at home..similar to my experiences..in many ways..iam just now starting to learn more about meningitis B...and wish I can start to turn my life around..and get out of this fucking rut...I been in the last 30 years..
@jimlatonorwalkctfuckconnec9481
8..I experienced mental problems..and had got locked up .in state of CT places that are like a prison with no record of it..I then went homeless..for years on end..over 10 years now..with brief stays for a few months getting a room for rent at times..mainly living in walmart parking lotts..in vehicles i owned different ones every few years..vans..1 car..and 1 pick up...also a bosses dump truck...and a bosses box trailer..as well as tractor trailers i drove for a living at times..
@jimlatonorwalkctfuckconnec9481
9..I mainly do for a living Construction operating Construction Equipment..and or drive trucks and laborers work in Excavating and Paving..iam still held back from advancing my jobs ..because of lack of math and blue print reading knowledge..
@jimlatonorwalkctfuckconnec9481
Part 4..he looked at me fast on the floor of the ER..and then put me in a isolation room by my self..on a strecher... I recall it was a cold room..all I could see was a door..with a small window in it and hospital staff walking by..I suffered in there for hours alone to a Chinese doctor walked in..looked st me..checked my eyes...and temperature that's all I remember I then passed out cold..
@jimlatonorwalkctfuckconnec9481
Part 7..I could never do good in school after it..math classes just draws a blank spot..I also had CD a very violent abused child hood before and after the sickness .so iam kinda anti social..I dont gel well with other people..at times I have a blank personality..
@jimlatonorwalkctfuckconnec9481
Part 6..I dont feal now at 48 years old I ever fully recoved from it..I study it now to learn more about it..
@jimlatonorwalkctfuckconnec9481

Tylonal..nothing worked. I suffered 2 more weeks like that bed riddin. Before my sister demanded my mother take me to the Norwalk Connecticut Hospital...
@jimlatonorwalkctfuckconnec9481
15..I lived in the contractors box trailer a few months..in winter time freezing my ass off...then i had two apartments in a few months...then I went back homeless living in the contractors dump truck..in a walmart parking lot a few months...till the truck broke down and he fired me..not having a vehicle of my own at the time..and no place to live no job..I payed a local Dover NJ pot dealer almost 300.oo $...to drive me the 2hr plus ride back to Stamford Connecticut..I then walked in the pooring..rain 30 miles to Westport ct to turn my self in...because Norwalk ct pigs are to violent and corrupt to turn my self in there..
@jimlatonorwalkctfuckconnec9481
17..after two months I was transferred to Somers CT up by the Massachusetts line..on the other side of the state .to the oldest and most Populated prison in CT called Osborn Prison...I was put back into a solitary cell block the first month..where I saw a inmate kill him self. And the gaurds did not help him...they laughed at him dieing..slowly..bleeding out..then I was put into a mental cell block called the G unit..with over 150 inmates..both prisons are a level 3 and 4 medium security prison...max is a 5.. .
@jimlatonorwalkctfuckconnec9481
12..I bonded out..then gir arrested again in a torrington ct hospital ..arguments with three staff over my state of ct insurance they CD would not except..lead to me being beat to shit
@jimlatonorwalkctfuckconnec9481

I'm wondering though, does it have the ability to travel down the spine? a couple years something hit me so bad, it was painful to stand or walk even laying in bed. I thought I had cancer.
@jimlatonorwalkctfuckconnec9481
15..I was taken to Norwalk ct court the next day...and then transported by prison van to Bridgeport Connecticut state prison..
@jimlatonorwalkctfuckconnec9481
Part 5..I did not no where I was at...it felt like I had been asleep a few hours...the doctor explained to me..as my grand parents cried out loud...I had been in Acoma 3 days..I had a Stroke. And it was caused by drinking out of the stream..I had gotten..Menigitus B..back then they called it meningococcal meningitis..I stayed out of school over 2 months recovering at home.. ..
@jimlatonorwalkctfuckconnec9481
Part 4..I basically died I was told latter..I saw a tunnel and bright lights..the pain I suffered in for almost 2.5 weeks was gone...I awoke..hearing my grand father .Dominick lato. Almost Crying saying Jimmy's Alive..it was foggy to see ..as I focuses my eyes more.i see my grand father and grand mother standing over me..and I see a temporary partition wall behind them..only as high as there shoulders...and I see hospital staff walking back and forth..and a doctor come running over..he's comming out of it thank god..he said..
