I was lucky enough to be invited to my Amish friends quilting (I just visited with the ladies while they quilted). The younger girls don't enjoy quilting, so they were put to work making noodles. They used 96 egg yolks and I don't know how much flour, but their process was just like yours including the ironing of the dough - which was new to me. It was a wonderful, relaxing day filled with visiting and sharing of stories and I enjoyed it so much. My friend ended up with two and a half five gallon buckets of dried noodles and I came home with a full cookie sheet of noodles which I finished drying. Memories to treasure. Thanks so much for sharing!

We plucked chicken feathers my brothers hunted w my dad and we all Loved to Fish! and go camping!🏕️ and w a family of 11 it always reminded me of the Waltons lol Love & Memories are a Beautiful thing for families to have! We still laugh about the funny things we did growing up! We were outside all the time! And We kissed our Parents Goodnight and Thanked God for our Food before our meals. I’ve made noodles before, but I never heard of ironing them! I grew up in a community with a lot of Holdemann Mennonite people, so I wonder if it’s part of their tradition. I don’t have a pasta machine, so I roll my noodles out by hand, and cut them with a large chef’s knife. I also use the same dough to make egg roll wrappers, and have even made fried hand pies with it! I enjoyed watching the boys’ antics, especially the flour facial hair! I love Hadassah’s name. I wish the book of Esther had been named Hadassah instead, since that was her real name! I hope your Hadassah is as courageous and steadfast as her namesake!

The chicken tasted like chicken (not cardboard) and the noodles were amazing with just enough flour from the noodles to thicken the soup perfectly! This brings back memories of my mom making huge amounts of egg noodles for our family of 12. 😊 My dad made kind of a picnic table where we could all sit together and Mom would cover it with drying noodles. Ironing pasta sounded bizarre at first but it makes sense when you think about it. My mom just fan-folded the dough and cut it by hand: no pasta machine or pasta cutter. My son had ducks for a while and their eggs were great. I forget why, but eventually they all had to go to freezer camp. Love your kids. First guy is such a good helper, and Mr. Moustache is a hoot! I love watching the boys helping - even with clean-up! I love all your tricks and tips too. I have never seen the iron trick before. I just made some gluten free egg noodles and they turned out great. Now I want to make a huge batch to iron and dry.

Goodness, it’s so much fun to watch the little boys help you. Mess or no, they learn so much. Your patience is one lesson that is intangible but worth every minute. All that and egg noodles too. Your videos are always interesting and never boring. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻❤️

Enjoyed the video😊 My Mom dried the sheets in a low oven before we cut them. I smiled because noodle day when I was a kid was so fun, and yes, we used beds to dry our pasta too😊

❤Great presentation today Ruthanne...you do a marvelous job with your children, patiently teaching them and allowing them to be involved in your work. I'm a grandmother now and watching you reminds me why we have our children when we are young..I've slowed down!! I remember your energy, I was once full off energy like you...but now watching you makes me tired . 😅 37:01
